Sirra, try clearing any cached IPs before connecting. Also you may want to ask for the direct IP address because it could be a DNS issue. Having the direct IP is normally more stable and it's only a pain in the ass if they ever change it for some reason.

Do you sometimes wish staff would automate shit? Tired of waiting for rooms to be updated or a leadership NPC to do some seemingly easily automated task? Do you envy the elegance of the weather code on most games and wish they would do the same to other functions? Apollo writes about it! optionalrealities.com/harder-better-faster-stronger-automated-systems/

Also additional note, this exchange made me realize OR didn't have an experience/feedback thread like the game forums. We have one now. optionalrealities.com/forums/index.php?topic=65.msg446#newIf you want to share your opinions of the community, my involvement, or anything else and you want to do it publically to the OR users than feel free! Or here.

Alright I can see how you'd think that in regards to IC information and Logs so we'll start there. Below are the rules for Optional Realities. optionalrealities.com/forums/index.php?action=rulesSo my logs from over 2 years ago would not fall into that category. They are very old logs and such things are welcome on the OR forums. My log with my tribal with the closing of Tuluk was also 72 hours after the closure of the RPT. The newbie didn't give his entire character backstory and the majority of NPCs are no longer accessible by players. I would (at most) have redacted the newbies sdesc and mdesc if there was a report, which brings us to the next thing. I am unable to know whether something is pertaining to an "active" plot on my forum. The only 3 posts that were moderated were reported by a user and cited that these were active NPCs in active plots. So we created a spoiler tag for things users thought might be iffy and we edited out the name, sdesc, and mdesc in 2 posts of the 2 NPCs. Meanwhile HavenRPG has a thread for posting logs and snippits on our board. Totally allowed! I have a history with ARM. I filed staff complaints. I Quit. I then publically shared my opinion. I'd like to think I've tried to be fair with Arm after a little venting. I'm certainly one of the more moderate posters on this board. I can't change who I am for a project I am working on, that would be 2-faced. I can only temper my opinions (which I have, I think) and be mindful of what is inappropriate for a community founder to say on his own website. Also please note that even though Arm isn't involved (in anyway) with OR I am still promoting their game and listing them. Why? Because to have a site focused on text-based RPGs and not listing Arm would be kind of silly. To get to the end though. If you were the owner of Arm, I would tell you this... OptionalRealities isn't about my personal opinion or my relationship with your game as a player. We want to promote all games that are within the text-based RPG wheel-house which is permadeath, automated systems, and roleplay focus. Your game hits those on the head and you're also one of the oldest and longest running examples of an RPI MUD. If you don't want to post on our forums that is fine it's certainly not a requirement for involvement with the site. All that I ask is that you contribute an article in the same vein as other articles we have from other games. PS - If you know of a game that meets the definition: permadeath, automated systems, and roleplay focused. Than please PM me here or on OR the link to their website or an e-mail to contact their staff. EDIT - Though to be fair to Armageddon staff, in our interactions with them they have been civil and expressed some interest (we think) but they are understandably busy with their own game.

Sure.
The OR staff are in communication with them right now (or we last spoke to them 3 days ago?) and if you go right on up a post you will see that I am reaching out to them again in 3 weeks or at least one of the team will be. Just because I jokingly responded to Delerak shouldn't kill the Armageddon staff's interest in being involved in the project. If it does, well they can tell me themselves when we reach out to them again.
The HavenRPG staff have contributed an article and Daed has registered on the forums. I didn't say nice things about their game when I gave my opinion in the Other Games forum. Daed told me he read that thread when we had a brief exchange the other day.
Optional Realities is more than just Jeshin. That's the point of a community. So to repeat, sure I expect them to seriously consider contributing on more than just this thread or any other thread I've ever written about them. Wouldn't you if you were a game owner?
EDIT - Do note that it was actually Delerak that said they wouldn't participate, not me. It's early and I am drinking coffee. Also it's not a Jeshin post without an edit, right?
EDIT - Also you may now liken my to Nyr and his joking response to Kronibas which we spent 5+ forum pages discussing. I am confirming that was a joke, get Malken and his joking PHD up here to confirm.

Alas Delerak, it is now literally my job to try and reach out until they tell me to fuck off.
EDIT - I hope that the contributions of every other game that is listed on Optional Realities will be a strong motivator for them to at least get in one article. EDIT2 - I volunteered for this!

One sec... I don't inform on anyone nor do I communicate with staff. Which is sad because I had hoped the Armageddon staff would contribute an article to Optional Realities weekly rotation. They haven't yet, but I'll check back in 3 weeks and see where they stand. I will also take this moment of being randomly accused of silliness to say I'm to busy on that site up there to be informing on the fine people of this forum... Most of your a fine... Well most of you are alright... You're okay on a good day? I want to play mafia with you guys, isn't that enough for everyone? EDIT - I won't personally check back with them because me asking them to write an article likely won't work. I'll have one of my not hated (hopefully) dev-team dudes to ask them. EDIT2 - Also official apology for abusing the shadowboards with OR stuff. I do promise to reduce it down to the twice a week article announcements in the shameless plug thread. I just like that graphic and I felt like random accusations against my clearly impeccable character warranted a silly and shameless response.

We have another article up this time by Slither from the Sindome staff! Ever wondered what a good design loop would be for a game? Thought the mysterious of how stuff got implemented were impossible to comprehend? Well be baffled no longer! One option revealed. optionalrealities.com/developing-and-iterating-new-features/

gdb.armageddon.org/index.php/topic,49346.msg883520.html#new I'm actually kind of surprised that the answer wasn't yet. Given the re-focusing of staff. The major changes (and minor) in other areas. You'd think that giving some quality of life updates to combat would be on the table... Unless you think Arm's combat is totally fine the way it is?

Drovian weapons are pretty sick. They bypass non-ethereal armor. If you play a Drovian/subguild with poison. You could fuck some people up.
EDIT - Assuming you can poison them.

As per the reference to my forum. The EoE staff has accounts and a subforum and are contributors to the weekly article section. We hope that Armageddon will commit to an article when they are less busy with restructuring their staff side operation and we further hope that they engage on our forum but they haven't as of yet.
So I'll at least give kudos to EoE staff for engaging with a new community site as well as coming to this forum which is the wild west of MUD feedback.
EDIT - I am a professional.

Morin's pre-dated the Tuluki closure plot. It was a logging village owned by Kadius and its room count was only expanded. It was actually a cool part of the game world that didn't get like any usage because you kind of weren't supposed to be chilling out in there. I remember once a volunteer patrol led by Faithful Dalen got booted out to stand outside the village because a kryl swarm was coming and it was 'our fault'.
But insofar as I saw during my stint playing. It looks like the follow through on the closure of Tuluk wasn't exactly as good as the animations and lead up to it. Perhaps someone with more playtime over the last week and more familiarity with tuluki's could comment further.
EDIT - Also supposedly there will be no staff resources spent on plots in Morin's so technically that is a huge change as they removed all the clan load work and splitting of GMHs between allanak and tuluk. From a staffing standpoint that is a significant outcome of closing tuluk.

O.O how is it shitstirring? I'm honestly curious because no one has really commented on the fact the two of them popped up and started responding to this thread. There was a lot of posts here. I personally think they did a good job, it's more than a lot of other admins have done here.

I want to say, does anyone think that Jazet/Alaire have done a poor job of addressing some of the concerns? I am honestly curious what the board thinks about the 2 -owners- of the game coming here and speaking with a fair amount of respect to the posters.
