So Tuluk's IC justification for people to flee and for it to be closed to players is that Faithful are abducting people by the 1000s and turning them into mindslave zombies.
Initial Reaction - Fucking finally mindbenders being properly scary... not sure how much sense this makes, still brewing.

When I think of Lirathans in Tuluk, I think of Nyr being able to play one up there unfettered as everyone else gets ganked left and right for all kinds of insignificant bullshit.
Just goes to show you, the days when Bhag was able to run around with Ihsahn while imming are not over. They've just changed.
Nyr = the new Bhag, only worse in some regards, less "obvious" in others because he knows what the playerbase reaction is to outright fuckery.

With the tree of life gone in tuluk, something has to feed the defiler muk utep in order to power whatever he is doing. Remember that once the dragon visited tuluk and then disappeared, soon after muk utep began to sleep(?)
In the dark sun mythos, the dragon was created from and by the champions(later turned sorcerer-kings/queens) of first sorcerer in order to keep that same sorcerer imprisoned after they rebelled. The dragon required exactly 1000 lives tribute from every city state every year to keep the that sorcerer, their master imprisoned.
There is a chance are they are copying something similar. More lame high magick bullshit, that the player base cannot really be a part of or influence in any way, written on the fly without an effort. Whatever plot they have created is something you either need to be dating a staffer or be an ass kissing imm pet to fully learn the entire story of anyways.

When you constantly harp on the same person for the same reasons, in every available venue, it doesn't make your point stronger. It makes you look petty and obsessive. Let it go, he isn't worth the effort.

So Tuluk's IC justification for people to flee and for it to be closed to players is that Faithful are abducting people by the 1000s and turning them into mindslave zombies. Every part of that is entirely retarded. With the tree of life gone in tuluk, something has to feed the defiler muk utep in order to power whatever he is doing. Muk Utep isn't/wasnt a defiler, unless it's been retconned. Originally he was a psychic who only studied sorcery enough to make himself ageless. It was explicitly stated in the docs he refrained from pursuing anything more in the way of sorcery because he knew it would warp him. Of course, Nyr happened, so you may be right under the present version of the docs. Remember that once the dragon visited tuluk and then disappeared, soon after muk utep began to sleep(?) In the dark sun mythos, the dragon was created from and by the champions(later turned sorcerer-kings/queens) of first sorcerer in order to keep that same sorcerer imprisoned after they rebelled. The dragon required exactly 1000 lives tribute from every city state every year to keep the that sorcerer, their master imprisoned. Interesting. Are you suggesting templarate would be performing these sacrifices to suppress some outside threat or to keep Muk Utep himself asleep? Whatever plot they have created is something you either need to be dating a staffer or be an ass kissing imm pet to fully learn the entire story of anyways. Yeah, and why would you want to?

Well, you would think that I wouldn't have to repeat myself, but usually these threads of conversation about Tuluk sucking or Lirathans sucking or anything in the last five years in the North, sucking, tie back to Nyr.
New people are signing up for this board every day and need to know why a lot of people feel the way they do and how it links into the subject at hand - and if we're talking about the North - for a long time back until recent history - then a lot of the Fuckery basically gets linked back to one or two people, and not many folks would even understand what the hell I'm talking about if I ranted about Laeris. So.

I'm not sure your posts are what we want new people to see unless Nyr just murdered their family or puppy or something. Most people I know who read the board but don't post find posts like yours (mostly yours) to be over the top and make them question the validity of the board because of how frothing mouth mad you tend to get. I wasn't going to post that but when you make a defense for repeatedly and obsessively calling out Nyr it kind of forces me to point out it isn't helping anything.
On topic though, I think the Faithful being evil in an observable manner is good. I think them using mind powers on the masses it good. I think it's a little to over the top, but hopefully after whatever the end of times event is for Tuluk they'll tone it down appropriately.
EDIT - Not to mention there are just shittons of thread and signatures and joke names on the board indicating the general dislike of him as a person or as a staffer, take your pick.

What I think is petty and obsessive is riding the asses of certain players at every turn - from a position of authority - in order to micromanage the story of the game.
You can't discuss the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan without talking about George Bush, you can't discuss the drug war without talking about Nixon, and you can't discuss how fucking lame these spoilers will be without pointing the jerk who, in large part, is responsible for it. If not responsible for the plot itself, he bears responsibility for the fuckery leading up to the plot.
Anyway, I have written lots of words on this board today, and I haven't really repeated myself or directly referred to Nyr that much... So, fuck off.

Well okay Kronibas. As long as you only mentioned him once every 24 hours I'm sure it won't come off as obsessive or annoying or anything. More information: Faithful PC whose name I don't remember finally captured a kryl queen or some kind of kryl parasite which they are breeding and putting into peoples heads. After a certain amount of time the parasites cause growth sacs to form over peoples heads. EDIT - This is all speculative or guesses based off of what information I can get my hands on.

I will try to limit my digressions, though... It is just hard to even feel excited about spoilers because of the cesspool they are going to pour from, so, yeah. Maybe other imms have come up with the idea, but I'm sure they're just doing the best that they can given the absurd and ridiculous circumstances.
edit: those "circumstances" are limited not only to the bullshit leading up to whatever HRPTs will happen, but also the "creative oversight" that they will be subject to.

I can only imagine the wannabe writers sitting around, trying to figure out how to be even more cliche while still managing to sneak science-fiction into high fantasy. This must have taken them hours of careful planning. Possibly days.

Just a question... how would everyone else have closed down Tuluk? What believable story would you have come up with?
