Hasbro has been pissing people off left and right.

In order to try and make up for pissing off the players they are claiming they will bring back the Dark Sun setting in 5.5edition... Which makes no sense because real Dark Sun is more grimdark than WH40K and the companies more modern sensibilities is going to be a struggle but there you go... DND Dark Sun coming again.

This is going to kind of meander but the TLDR is that Games are a form of escapism and a central pillar of escapism for many people is sexual fantasy. The only question that needs to be answered is whether Armageddon (or hypothetical game) permits it / wants to try and police it.

Meandering bit... So I've been around the block. I've done in-person tabletop (mostly d&d or WH40k by fantasy flight) and online tabletop (same mix) and Forum RP and MUD/MUSH/MU and FiveM RP (that's the GTA Streamers RPing in fictionalized Los Santos). I can tell you that ERP existed in every one of those but its level of acceptance/appropriateness varied greatly.

Tabletop Games, ERP is generally frowned upon because it's often extremely character centric and so you occupy 1-2 people and ignore everyone else. If it happens it should happen away from the table and if drama happens, then definitely keep it away from the table.

Forum RP, same thing normally forum based collaborative storytelling is more big picture focused keep the super personal bits private and go to DMs or Private Messages.

MUDs/MUSH, this is probably the place that ERP is the most common. Within MUDs people tend to treat ERP as either something to ignore, something to weaponize, or guilty pleasure. Realistically you can't police ERP because again we look at previous escapist games and ERP still happens it's just whether it happens within the main game. So does Armageddon want to nix sexual content completely? If so go for it and people will just do it in DMs or discord or whatever. If Armageddon isn't going to remove it completely than why bother policing it except for consent and certain taboo topics? It becomes the never ending elephant in the room.

FiveM GTARP, so this is that new fangled RP and actually it's pretty fun. I would say ERP is fairly uncommon here if only because the average age of these users tend to be under 20 and the female to male ratio skews pretty heavy depending on the focus of the particular server like NoPixel or Purple or Onyx or whatever. Even on these games ERP still happens, it's normally trolled pretty hard if someone gets caught, sometimes people make fake videos of someone ERPing to like character assassinate them. I don't know weird kids. I was a Senior Developer for an Australian server with 5000 unique logins a month. When you're dealing with that many people even like 1-5% interest in ERP and it happens. I was just lucky that as a dev I only got asked to check the logs to see if complaints were legit or not I never had to talk to them about why /emote on a street while moaning on public announcement was a bad idea and violated the PG-13 content.

Anyway as noted in the TLDR, escapism and sexual fantasy go hand in hand and I have yet to experience a single form of RP that didn't have some form of ERP in it. I have only seen forms of RP that discourage it as part of the game. I don't think it really merits a discussion really of whether ERP is good or bad if it's being done privately and you're not forced to watch it than what do you care? If there's something unethical happening like grooming or sex pest or abuse than yeah staff should act on that but even banning it from the game you still have the fallout from stuff happening off game so there is no escaping it. Besides didn't Armageddon figure this out like a decade ago sex corruption and betrayal aka Apartment Ganking

Well considering you only do driveby posts on people. It was certainly after you came out of the blue to accuse me of stalking and then didn't bother to reply almost like you just come to try and pick fights and needle people!

EDIT - PS Extra credit for trying to imply it's some sexual thing... I don't know about you but normally when I'm RPing with people I like befriending them not trying to fuck them. Maybe a little projection going on here?

Is it stalking to try and reconnect with someone you used to talk too and can't because AIM no longer exists? Seems like a pretty aggressive take on the situation unless you like know Taven and she said omg Jeshin never want to talk to him again. Than that would be helpful to know.

I regularly check the forum in hopes Taven pops in and reads a message and/or someone who knows them lets them know I am trying to reach out. Old friend I lost contact with when I left Armageddon.

While reading this thread for my daily hey what's going on over there noticed something.

1. You admit to literally everything you did wrong but then coached it as you did not believe it was wrong... You did things that might have been twinking, but it wasn't twinking, but that's up for other people to decide, but also it definitely wasn't twinking. You said things that were copy and pasted thus YOU SAID THEM but they were contextualized in the worst possible way to get you banned. Which means again you did the thing.

2. Historically Armageddon staff are pricks but being banned from a game doesn't require a trial. Here is the logic you need to apply. I have evidence (of some quality bad or good), I have a player, I believe the evidence is accurate and the player is a problem or has done something. I am banning them. I unban the player. The next time anything happens I will go, oh I was right the first time and re-ban them. Essentially unless the evidence is completely fabricated (it's not you said you said it) and the player is not known to staff (you've been around forever and I'm sure the staff or some staff were even buddy buddy with you) than appealing the decisions is just going to led to a future ban when something else happens. Also for extra credit if you do the unfair version of staff just don't like you and want to get rid of you. We have already proven staff almost never get reprimanded or punished at the higher levels so even if by some Miracle you do get back in you still have the fact some vindictive staffer is wanting to ban you, why play somewhere like that?

3. The logic that because you are banned the rules do not apply to you while trying to get unbanned is like babytownfrollicks logic. If you want to get unbanned you don't do things to bend or break the rules that you hypothetically always followed and would still be following. Saying stuff like I'm banned so the rules don't apply to me during this timeframe is the kind of stuff that ruins your ban appeal!

Just for the record...

It is completely reasonable to be done with a game and not want to give it anymore time but be aware and even interested in who is playing it. Whether those people are in your friend group or people you might want to filter out of ever becoming friends with. You can want to move on from something AND avoid people actively participating in it.

It's even reasonable to... GASP... Voice an opinion about hey remember when I (and others) were mistreated. Just remember the cesspool you're going back too. It's not like it takes more than a few minutes maybe an hour or two to check all of it make a comment and go back to the rest of your life.
