I also found the mention of your wife to be super weird. Especially as it positioned any inconvenience as "her husband's" fault. They could have simply said. If you are not X player and are being caught by this IP ban please appeal blah blah blah. Salty staffer is salty.
EDIT
Also asking you to pick between 2 accounts, then later coming back and saying that one of the two wouldn't be unbanned regardless seems generally... Iunno wasteful? Wasteful of time and setting up for the ol, but you just said X, now you're doing Y complain.

PS - In addition the kind of logic behind the do not discuss IC rules doesn't really hold up.
If I go onto a Wheel of Time (book series) forum and say how cool and immersive Armageddon is and reveal who I play and post a log to convince people to join. What happens? If the staff find it will I somehow be punished? For posting on a non-related board to people who probably do not play?
What about if I go to one of those fanfiction websites and turn a log of my Armageddon character into a short story. I use the same name as my GDB login and I don't alter any of the character names. If someone finds it and reports it, I get punished? What if I never linked it on the GDB or forums like this with clear association to MUDs?
Where do you draw the line on telling people they can't share something they enjoy?

I feel like people very much missed the point of my post. To super duper clarify it for those who missed it.
History on multiple games of staff and player actions point to subverting rules privately. Specifically, the rules related to restricting people's ability to discuss their experience with the game. Whether this is the threat of being censured for a dissenting opinion or a rule about not revealing current events, recent events, whatever events. The off-game and off-board methods of communication freely flow with such discussions. The reason is people like to talk about things they like. It's not hard to understand. I even asked for someone to provide another means of entertainment where people do not discuss it.
TLDR - People have never followed the do not discuss IC rules. There are exceptions but of course if you don't want to risk spoilers, then do not engage in the boards that discuss that stuff or talk with the people who enjoy talking about it.

Rules. No Rules. The no conversation of IC elements is ridiculous and I know immersions and plot integrity are important but... Name one other game/movie/entertainment where you cannot discuss or share your experience with others? Like it's human nature to discuss and share opinions and experiences about things as a way of forming a community and bonding. That is why almost all MUDs/MUSHs/MU* with a policy restricting the ability to do this just have AIM/SKYPE/DISCORD/SHADOWBOARDS that do it anyway. Sometimes (most of the time) even the staff of these games indulge in it.
No IC discussion ever is basically like illegal weed. Everyone's doing it and it's mostly harmless. May as well legalize it and give some common sense rules on the really super bad stuff you should avoid doing. Like blatant metagaming. Not telling someone how quickly you killed a bear and it was so cool because you forgot your sword so you had to do it with a dagger and you were scared you were going to die because you were so forgetful hahaha... You know, harmless shit.

You know in all political campaigns they're like... Speak up. Speak up now and together. Do it and you'll be heard. Our cause is just and cannot be denied. Staffers going to the trouble of calling out Nessalin (and Nyr and even other staff from other games) over their bullshit is kind of like an election. If you think it's wrong, stand up. If you feel like bluntness will work against you, be diplomatic. Sitting around going, well I disagree with this and this and this but I keep my head down to do animations doesn't really help a game.
You just end up with a shadowboard and/or community.

Didn't Tek's daughter Ms. MetalArm already like assume power and/or start the black robe rebellion or something? I could have sworn she took power and/or is sharing it with 2 other people right now?

Someone who still actively plays told me about this on discord, I joked with them that they should expect game of thrones kind of stuff to start showing up in the world.
Maybe the dragon is coming back from the moon to fuck the world up again. (dragons return to westros)
The fire worshipping religion begins coming out strong again from the Northlands / Sun king. (see rylor or whatever, red priestess)
etc etc, you get the idea.

Listen son (I'm calling you son because I am being a dick). Unless IsFriday killed you with a sexually flirtatious fme character that complained about being sexually objectified, you haven't experienced the true IsFriday ride.

Listen I don't care who did what to whomever. But if you're going to copypaste a GDB gem at least provide some context and/or link or save the whole thread or something. Come on!

There are certain things that we are taught via media and personal interaction to recognize. These are things that for the most part of instinctive and while you could go about describing the exact manner in which you look pleased, someone may fail to recognize you're pleased. What happens if I do a mechanical emote describing my pleased-ness and the noble I am sitting with says "You are not pleased?" and then I reply, "No m'Lord, I am quite pleased." I have gone from showing to telling and added in confusion.
Looking rather pleased with himself, Jeshin crosses his arms over his chest and looks down at Amos. "Lesson one, don't get cocky kid."
versus
Looking down at Amos, Jeshin crosses his arms over his chest and flashes a grin. "Lesson one, don't get cocky kid."
Functionally they're the same but I think the 1st imparts a bit more insight into the character without overtly telling someone. Another example...
Jeshin rolls his eyes in exasperation before turning to leave the training yard.
versus
Jeshin rolls his eyes before turning to leave the training yard.
In the second one I could be rolling my eyes in annoyance or disgust or indifference or whatever.

I don't actually think the ARM playerbase is "bad". I think that they RP what the situation is and in my examples with elves in Tuluk under Sinjinn and gickers in general there isn't really a downside to allying with these anti-establishment or anti-social forces. Why?
In the case of Sinjinn and the elves, the dude like ran Tuluk. He had Qoriya if not in his pocket then in his corner. You were better off playing ball or sucking up than trying to treat him like shit because then you get knifed in the throat and your character is dead.
In the case of gickers, befriending one yields pretty big advantages in not just code but also access to plot (like sirra said). Normally the association isn't even bad because if Blue Robes or whatever find out what you're doing you have better odds that they use you as an informant on the rogue gickers or ask you to do special tasks with your rogue gicker ties because you and them are expendable. Doesn't sound that bad to me.

Except you're describing a coded scenario. If whoever had been messing with you had become visible at some point would you guys have been like. HI STRANGER, HAVE YOU SEEN THE GHOST?

It wouldn't be the only reason. It would be an enforcing reason. Not only that but the playerbase (in the past) has pretty much shown that if there isn't a coded consequence then they'll do whatever they want. It's kind of like a MUSH player saying that you don't need to code in perma-death or combat code because they'd rather deal with the bad RPers than have coded requirements to resolve story.
Instead of adding code though you could always update documentation. You know gickers eat babies, gickers become less human over time, gickers like to mess with mere mortals. Whatever. Like I said in theory half-breeds shouldn't need code because their social stigma backlash is based on them being unstable and untrustworthy. Which is true. Elves likewise are all thieves, it's part of their culture so the social stigma there is also true. Dwarves are all goal obsessed little bastards who don't know how to use punctuation, so the social stigma about them being driven but "selfish" or focused on a specific thing is also true. In theory that means the gicker hate is also true but either documentation doesn't give gickers enough guidelines on how to RP being a soulless abomination or there isn't a coded factor to make it true.
Unless out of all social stigmas in ARM, gickers are the only innocently stigmatized group.

Is there some reason that you don't think applying some kind of risk to associating with gickers would benefit the game? Wouldn't it enable you to be like. I knew Amos but one day he stood to close to one of them krathi sorts and the gicker was doing his hojo mojo and his flame arms set poor Amos on fire. Gicker said that just happened sometimes. Like when gickers cast (might not be this way still) they would manifest signs of their element and the more powerful they were the more intense the manifestation. Just take that same code. Add a % chance that something bad might happen to a bystander. Bob's your uncle you're set. Then it becomes. Hey be scared of gickers while casting because you never know!
