Yes and no. They are good books in their own right but they are a different kind of story. They aren't as tight and impactful as Ender's Game but they are definitely for more adult readers with more dialogue and subplots.

This thread is for generalist ideas that anyone can come to if they find themselves in a rut and unable to think of a plot or goal for their character. Try and keep things as high level as possible.
Tuluki Chosen - Cultivate and train spies to become partisans and even lifesworn in other Houses for the benefit of your own House. - Seek to elevate (or defend the status) of your House by taking historical accomplishments of other Houses and destroying or degrading them. <Example: The pay shadow artists to sabotage the Uaptal theater or create damage in the Tenneshi ampi-theater or release plague rats into the Red Sun Commons to harm winrothol's reputation>
Tuluki Citizen - Create a minor merchant House and become wealthy beyond your imagination - Join a Chosen House and try to become a Senior Aide - Try and begin a criminal enterprise with the backing of the Faithful in the warrens

I'm not saying what he did was a good idea or that it's justified. I commented on the kind of community that has been fostered by a moderation/talking down heavy approach and how that can lead to people just blowing up on the forums because they don't see a difference between being an outspoken ass and trying to have a reasonable discussion.

When people feel as if voice dissent is a capital offense it will cause them to go all the way when they finally do. For example if me stating that I think we need to discuss the staff policy and yada yada and karma review isn't working and yada yada is going to earn me a verbal beat down and potentially a black mark. Then there's no incentive to be reasonable when I could emotionally vent and say the same things. Both (presumably) will lead to the same conclusion that nothing will change for me personal.
But what do I know.

I honestly believe that Tuluk is a failed implementation of a tribal state. I think if Tuluk had kept its tribal roots (if you read the docs they were just tribes merged together under Muk Utep) and the caste system was based on the relative 'power' of your tribe then it'd have something going on.
Example: Lets say Tenneshi, Winrothol, and Kassigarth are all tribes not Houses. The elders/leaders of the tribes are what we know as Chosen but the tribe contains commoners too. The Chosen/Elders have complete control over their tribes members and their actions dictate the power/respect of the tribe in Tuluki society which informs the commoners what their place is compared to the other tribes.
EDIT - Untribed people would be the "untouchables" the forsaken. The shit that isn't even good enough to be slaves. There's your criminal underworld composed of people with no choice but to live "outside the system"

The best revenge characters are the characters who get revenge on everyone and by revenge I mean sociopathic dudes who chop up mothafuckers with bone swords.

Bitters speaks with wisdom. He has let his emotions feed his bitterness and his bitterness fed his power... and then he said a lot of stuff that made sense. Maybe this is how the Sith take over the universe?

Next good patch should be appointing a Public Relations staffer or... I think coding in realistic restraints where someone doesn't have to be subdued to be restrained would be nice. Like when you're in prison the templar just hands you those shackle item and says put those on, but they're just for show.

Not sure why we keep bumping the thread we all want to go away thus moving it back up to the top of the list, we should probably just make a couple of posts in the threads on the 1st page of general discussion and... you know... bury it?
