Consent is not to allow something to happen. It is to allow the graphic depiction of something to happen. You can refuse consent for graphic mudsex or torture and still hit the highlights. Jeshin likes it up against the wall. He's quick on the first romp, better staying power on the second. He has no idea what he's doing so if you moan he just does that the rest of the night. Tressy tress is an eager beaver, no really her beaver is eager. She moans a lot, it backfires on her, she fakes it in the end but it's believable. <--- you have seen a ftb sex scene I have forced this upon you.
Torture could be like
Jeshin would laugh really evilly, he's all about monologuing but does little actual torture-y bits. Fingers, ears, threatens the eyes. You wind up blind. Thug who was imprisoned doesn't talk, he's a guild man and he never sells out! He curses Jeshin and his bullshit act, when he's finally released blind he picks up a job as a street beggar and spy of whispered secrets.

I'm failing to see how posting after a character has died will allow him to remain anonymous from repeated staff discrimination against people that post negatively or critically on this board. If he intends to make -another- character and play despite not thinking the game is the bees knees. You're staff or staff adjacent and have a habit of trying to weasel people into outing themselves in PMs and outright encouraging them to do so. It's kind of silly to think me or someone else wouldn't chime in with hey keep your privacy if you intend to play past your first experience. Been playing. Still post here. Not banned. I've heard of players posting here being banned but I haven't experienced it. Then again.. I don't share IC info, haven't done that in a decade or more, I don't attack the game and staff mindlessly foaming at the mouth, I don't actively try to prevent new players from coming to the game. You reap what you sow. You are one person. There are plenty of reports on this forum of people who did not foam at the mouth against the game who were harassed by staff. Advocating for caution with a checkered history is not crying wolf from the hilltops it's advocating caution. In addition you're quoting me are you trying to tell me I am foaming at the mouth about the game or trying to prevent new players from playing there? If so maybe go read my post history a bit closer because I'm the wrong user on the board to be throwing that label on. EDIT - Just so I'm not completely deraily in my chime in after Qwerty... Jeshin's guide to playing Armageddon MUD CURRENTLY 1 - If you want a high population and more mainstream experience go to Nak. 2 - If you're interested in an indie experience go to Luir's via garrison or straightup OC tribal 3 - Ask questions, offer help, find a merchant... Armageddon has always operated under the cycle of you bring me the stuff, I turn the stuff into sid, you get gear, I get wealth. If you're not in a House with a set duty/cycle of activity you want to find merchants/crafters. You want to be like what do you need, offer it to them in abundance, reap the rewards of a symbiotic relationship. From there once your 'game cycle' is established you can branch out to RP goals like... Bang the aid, make friends with the tribal, become independantly wealthy, secretly work for the templar. The key to enjoying Armageddon is sustainable play cycle that gives you a clear path of activity everytime you login whether you have an RP partner or not.

Given the repeated tales of people who have posted here with negativity or criticism. Perhaps do not post your play experience here unless you are positive on the game. If you are negative but found some friends to play with and intend to still play, I'd stay mum personally.

Generally the threat of reprisal works as well as an actual reprisal. The staff could simply increase force projection with IC rumors of the guild striking out against those who wrong them. Doesn't even need to be PCs, throw some NPC corpses around. Setup a room trigger with like a 5% chance to echo some guild hit going on against someone that 'wronged' them. Make a few throw away PCs RP them for a couple week have them rabble rouse and start shit and then 86 them to show even PCs can be punished, just so happens these ones are RPed by staff no one needs to know... The message is clear. Once that's done you just put on some heavy animation pressure when you become aware of inappropriate flexing. If it's really needed you make a move, but the bar will be higher than the one you advertised.

I never said they were.
EDIT - I don't know why this is so difficult. I made a post explicitly referencing Bebop and the tryst. You made a post referencing two things. I never implied elf crimelord and bebop were on staff when it happened. In fact back in the day I explicitly said they weren't if you look at old posts. I have reading comprehension qwerty, do you?

I am thinking of Hishn, I apologize to Bebop. I just thought the bard fucking the crimelord elf was dumb.

I may be getting Bebop and someone else mixed up. Regardless of my dislike for Shalnoowhooshboosh I don't think dinging them for shagging is really on the table.
TLDR When I played Elrum 'banished' Irofel in Tuluk there was a rash of negative animations which I was informed was a single female staffer. It was whoever played Esme the gypsy at the time. It's been several years so whether it was indeed Bebop or someone else or I was misinformed I don't know. I did have a SEPARATE chip on my shoulder because of the whole etiquette bard sleeping with a criminal elf thing that everyone just let go on forever but that was more why is this allowed to happen shake fist at the sky than any wronged action against me.
Regardless good on Bebop for saying something despite my accurate and/or inaccurate beef with her.

I used to have a chip on my shoulder about Bebop from back when she staffed for a bit. But good on her giving some solid criticism on the GDB.
EDIT - Hishn is the staffer I had a chip on my shoulder with, I just griped about Bebop.

Why not to engage with the debate on GDB. Censorship! Temporary locking threads? Just outright locking threads... Staff being humorous about making a player concern even worse with super death kryl, but just kidding!

In the post where you quoted it specifically states.
Don't click that link directly if you don't want to be outed.
What could this mean? It means that if you do not want an IP address associated with this website for ANY reason. Do not click on the click from this forum to that forum. It seems fairly self-explanatory.
Whether the staff are evil or sleepy or awesome or neutral or whatever it's a simple fact that they can match web traffic if they so choose.

Mages are employable, gemmable, are not killed on sight, and evidently make up a large part of the Allanak force projection strategy. What is their balancing factor? You can pick any option for employment as a gemmed mage that you want, so long as that option is House Oash. Or you can be a mage in secret (which basically means almost never using magick, or living alone in the wilderness). "Not killed on sight"? Died on sight with my last gemmer. Templars use mages, Oash use mages, plenty of people pay mages under the table, indies pay mages, etc etc. Can you join a merchant house as a gemmed, no... Can you work for them and get that $$$ , yes. As for KoS I'll concede some people will KoS a mage. I know tribals will often be KoS in the Pah/Desert but that is a known killzone for mages and has been for years. I'm at least willing to say mages are (like nobles) open to a heightened level of aggression for being hands on. I haven't played in years so I'm not aware of how consistently hostile the playerbase is, back in my day though some mages got a pass in the wilds.

Once there was a young Faithful, he played it a little preachy/religiousy, he wanted to go to Luirs for his own reasons. During the escort he was attacked. He opened himself up to risk, he was attacked because someone recognized a tuluki leadership role and the whiran took their shot. The two rangers (I was one) were unable to save him. He died.
Raleris left the city semi-frequently and when I was playing an Oashi Aide, my whiran buddy cop had a huge IC hate on for Raleris. Had the stars aligned the whiran would have made a play to kill him, it'd been discussed IC a few times. Raleris leaving the city was opening him up to risk, if we had ever foundout he was 'in the open' there would have been an assassination attempt.
I imagine this would be true for nobles in the rinth, outside the walls, traveling to and from Luirs, etc etc. Being hands on opens you up to risk.
Some characters even have it in their backgrounds to have grudges against the noble class or specific houses etc etc. This means nobles who have never done anything wrong are prime targets for IC aggression. This extends to tribals who are like fuck the pits and the people in them. Etc etc.
As for 3rd party I have to disagree. The citizens call which I started was a third party thing which was later changed by staff into the levy (in my opinion). It seemed to do very well as a simple volunteer army/3rd party armies answer to the AoD or they get rekt because we don't permit organized armed forces to defy us yada yada conflict betrayal whatever.

Noble balancing factors...
1 - If they do things themselves they are opening themselves up to more risk. 2 - Nobles are prime targets for aggression, their opening to risk is higher than some nameless schlub. 3 - There have been combat-y nobles in the past. Raleris, Tor, etc etc. What made them so bad wasn't the balancing factor that they were war heroes and not particularly politically inclined beyond that?
Balancing Factors in General..
1 - Yes people play against docs 2 - You need to create disincentives to that 3 - They need to be applied consistently 4 - Claiming bad players are bad, but not changing the game to enforce their badness is not a solution 5 - Reality trumps intention every time
