They have a soft version of it on ARM. It's called apartment ganking.

You do realize that the Cold war had actual wars in Korea, Vietnam, and the middle-east right? Also both the US and Russia killed shittons of spies and suspected spies on both sides. To claim a cold war is about humiliation when it's really about murdering your opponent with plausible denability is just drinking the Haven staff koolaid.
PS - Having sex make you open to murder is either the most heavy handed approach to discouraging mudsex I have ever seen or it is just dumb.

No you can't do that because there is a fix for the loophole in the Understanding... If you do something which you OOCly know violates the understanding but isn't codedly flagged to auto taint your aura for violation. There is a command to self taint basically saying I RPed violating the understanding but because the game code does not support this I acknowledge I should be tainted.

So you're telling me that anyone who has sex can be murdered for having sex without violating the understanding?
EDIT - To those who don't know the Understanding and thus the ridiculous protection only applies to Haven proper. You can technically leave Haven and go all over the world with holodeck rooms that can be edited into appropriate desc to represent where you travel. But that's like saying you can invite people to your apartment to kill them, it's someone that no one with common sense should fall for.

You can knock someone out without getting a debuff, yes. You can also break into their home or clan base or wherever they are sleeping. When you quit out your body is left in the world asleep 24/7. You can be kidnapped while asleep and dragged off somewhere. If you are detained for more than 24 hours whoever kidnapped you or is holding you becomes a viable target for bloodaura because they violated the understanding. If you kill or torture someone who is KO'd or asleep you are also a viable target for bloodaura because you violated the understanding. If they are KO'd or asleep and you kill them the psychics still reveal who you are to the clans.

Combat is actually interesting. But they differentiate between PC combat and NPC combat. In the NPC combat you have weapons/skills which you can create custom attacks for with custom emote strings for yourself, victim, and observers. There's a delay and ranges and you load onto a grid and can move with n/w/s/e or grid coordinates...
PC combat is turn based emote combat with a timer before you forfeit your turn. You use the same custom attacks in emote strings yada yada. Boring. Also they can call for help over comms and everyone can get there while you're forced to do RP combat and people can just come while the timers go down to the last second.

I don't believe there are loopholes, but if you want to elaborate on them then that would be a significant change from the last time I played.

You can kill someone in Haven, but the moment you do psychics broadcast the victim and your name to the 3 main clans. After its been revealed you killed them you violated a magical 'Understanding' which then allows them to bloodaura you (mark you as a bad man) which I think also debuffs you significantly. After being bloodaura'd you can be gangbanged by the rest of the MUD with no penalties to them for killing or torturing you.

It is Haven and to be fair to the game, players select their own 'voice strings'. Bostonian accent is not like a pre-coded option to my knowledge.

I don't know what was just proven, but looks to me like some out of context conversation which you brought up OOC stuff into? I don't know, didn't seem very drama like to me?
EDIT - Unless you're implying that Ciara and Layla are the same person and they're using alts (which are allowed in Haven) to cause drama?
EDIT - Or are you having a conversation with Ciara, finding out Layla said something about you and then contacted Layla oocly to complain about it?
EDIT - Considering in Haven you can't just murder someone, the worst you can do is ruin their reputation until it causes them to have a mental breakdown then you get bloodaura'd! zing.

Easy solution, begin properly enforcing lifesworn. Bonus: It helps improve lax clan RP and consequences?

Sure it's a bribe. You live a structured life under the yoke of a clan and presumably they are training you and shit thus you exchange your freedom for training only now you actually get 'training'. I guess?

gdb.armageddon.org/index.php?topic=48863.msg869108#newTLDR - Join a clan and every 4 ooc months you get to add an appropriate skill to your character even if it didn't get it from race/guild/subguild. Such as byn clan members getting guard or Borsail Wyvrens getting sap. I know the board probably agrees on a whole that more skill fluidity is a good thing, but is this manner of skill fluidity a good idea? Does it successfully make being in a clan better than being a badass indie? Discuss, go!

Oh I didn't know we were stipulating that everyone in the group had to be an elementalist... Then yeah it doesn't really happen. Normally there's a sorc or a nilazi or blue robe at the center of gicker groups. Not sure why that's a problem, but then you are right insofar as I know.
EDIT - Honestly it seems like the majority of your complaint applies to the majority of the population not just elementalists. Competent fighters in city states will normally be dragged into templar/faithful missions to fight or whatever normally to a suicidal degree. I know very competent fighters in the north got pulled into anti-gicker activities and kryl hunts galore. The most common death in the north is also the mighty carru which kills people fast enough that you can pretty much safely ignore learning anyones name for X number of days after meeting them if they're new so the turn over is high. And like everyones said, no one leaves a lasting impact on the game elementalist or otherwise.
Like can you give an example of what you think the thing you're asking to happen would look like and do?
