You have not traveled the path of the alternative RPI. I assure you there are about a dozen out there. There's also the Inquisition and Legends of the Jedi. All games have their problems, Sindome I didn't like personally but I have said multiple times that my girlfriend plays it religious... Some might say to much *shakes fist at the woman in the corner of the room*

HavenRPG? It's not that old, less than a decade surely.
Sindome? I think it's only 13 years old
Burning Post II? It's fairly newish, less than a decade I believe and has a fair playerbase as well
EDIT - Depends how long you've played Arm, but since Arm is like 20 years old and these are all roughly half that. I think they're fair examples. I think EoE is also young enough to qualify assuming you count 15+ players avg as sustainable?

That's why you filter out noobs. Not that family roles shouldn't be played by noobs but the more documentation that is written the more selective I become because you only get 4 slots.

The Plinkett reviews are both comical and very on the mark in a lot of cases. It's kind of like a YourMoviesSuckDotOrg video but a bit better. Check the 2nd one out on youtube.

To be honest, having the ability to write your own documentation and see other players playing by it. Players that you trust and actually follow it. It's a real special thing when it clicks, it's like a game within a game and I would advise anyone who hasn't led one or tried one to try it. I just wish ARM didn't make it such a pain in the ass to do them.

If anyone here has ever watched RedLetterMedia they have likely seen Plinkett's assessment of the Star Wars Prequels. One of his less serious, but still valid points, is that the culture depicted in the movie is so sterile and sexless that it's hard for the audience to really understand and connect with the society we're seeing.
