This is how you utilize journeyman combat skills (or abuse them, I guess)
1. Have 2 people 2. Have 1 person 'tank' 3. Have 1 person type charge, trample, sap, backstab, throw, whatever 4. After they have done the combat ability, type disengage, repeat
Example
Elrum and Aon were 2 rangers in Tuluk. During their tenure they basically led the volunteer patrols blah blah blah. Anyway the Faithful liked hunting kryl and going out into the grasslands so eventually it got to the point that we'd run into brutes or bahamets without any warning. Our method of handling them was an NPC HG or Elrum or a warrior with master shield would take aggro on the Bahamet via rescue or going into the room first. Then everyone else would come in and use charge while mounted and disengage. Successful charges could put the bahamet into a sitting state thus lowering the risk of it critting and making it easier to it. Since if you are not the primary target of attack you can disengage and it ends combat for you completely, you can basically reset abilities like charge/sap/backstab which require you to be outside of combat to initiate. Because you can spam it you don't need it to be at master, just Jman.

Zarah of Irofel was the pit champion after Meso beat Dargan. Elrum 'Banished' Irofel was going to participate in the pitfights but was widely warned against doing so because there was an 'accidental' death planned for him if he did. So he gave Zarah is baobab long staff to whomp her way to victory. Might have the log of that stuff somewhere.

Promote Your Game www.optionalrealities.com/promote-your-game/
With the new project "AthasMUD" and any project in general. Promote your game when you're about to release or when you've already released and are running an active community. Players do not remain players forever and even those that played Armageddon or Shadows of Isildur or Harshlands for a decade or more will eventually leave your game for real life commitments or a new experience. We all need to bring new players into the genre if we have to have players at all in the future.

There is a difference between staying true to the source material which was designed for a tabletop experience and making a compelling GAME for hopefully 50 - 100+ players. Lets not forget that in all tabletop games that DMs have fiat decision making to make changes and exceptions for the good of their games.

The Answer was what I expected. Case by case basis. People will not be banned for having accounts on Optional Realities but if they violate the Armageddon rules/policies they will be. Which is how we operated in 1.0 of the website.

Adhira responded to my question and apologized for the delay. Thus far out of all producers she has always given me a polite reply even when giving me a non-desirable response. Also it appears that staff (according to Adhira) are going to consolidate the helpfile on their rules/policies for banning so people can more easily assess what will and will not get them in trouble so keep an eye out for that.

Hey,
I would normally have this kind of thread on Optional Realities but as this is for the benefit of people trying to understand Armageddon and this is the primary Armageddon community I opted to write this here but with that one super sly plug at the beginning. The point of this thread is to articulate or list the things about Armageddon you enjoy or did enjoy in the past. Why? Because in order to create a game that has the same 'feel' or 'tone' as Armageddon you need to understand what that is and what components they still succeed at providing. This is primarily for people who want to go, this is what the game still provides or people who want to understand what they need to provide (at a minimum) in order to compete for the Armageddon crowd.
1 - You are in the game and able to engage minute 1 after creation.
During Project Redshift development I made a couple of brief newbie characters to examine the first 20 hours of Armageddon gameplay. Why? Because it does a great job of saying you want to grind, you want to RP, you want to explore, you want to try and get hired? Go do it, fail, succeed, do and try. Unlike some other games I have played in where you need to meet people and get integrated into the game world first and it's kind of tedious or relies on people being online. Armageddon is much more fast paced and do. Sure you may die. Sure you may have no idea where you're going. But you can buy clothes for your character, find a bar, talk to people, explore beyond the gates if you're so brave, get caught out at night, there's a lot of things you can do (at the newbie level) and not a lot of things you CANNOT do.
2 - Wildlife camps / character
Once again this is for Newbies and moderate playtime users. This is not really for oldbies. I think Armageddon did a pretty good job of distinguishing each zone with its own cast of wildlife with varying difficulty and little quirks that make it easy to discuss IG. Like eastern kryl versus Grey kryl versus raptors south of Tuluk. It's something subtle but a lot of games have issues with having such strong characterization for wildlife "zones" if you want to call them. I think that (at least in the north) Armageddon had each of its parts of the world filled with a lot of distinguishing features and character to them.

I was a long time member before switching to Jeshin as my handle and outing myself. I knew through personal experience that...
1) AIM/Skype information sharing occurred. 2) Basic information in Zalanthas was Find Out IC but it could really make a difference to character being LOLNEWBIE versus believable member of the world. 3) MUDs are games. Like MTG, Warhammer 40K, WoW, League, whatever. People want to congregate and talk about the games. I mean look at APMs and staff meetups. According to people who have read the wiki those were the most detailed sections. People just want to talk about things they find fun. Or in some cases unfair and unfun.

Purgpurgpurg that is like... one word placement away from being an outright threat. Anyone can come and copy that out of context and be like look here is someone who is thinking along the lines of hurting arm staffers with this leaked personal information. You might want to curb the frustration just a bit lest you become the poster boy for why they have a legitimate reason to be concerned.

Was waiting 72 hours hoping for an answer to my question, no such luck. Thus in response to multiple requests the final exchange between myself and Armageddon staff. imgur.com/a/nIDXW

Hey,
I have been contacted by a member of the Armageddon staff. Agreed to disagree and I am satisfied with the exchange so I don't have to keep putting up information to defend what meager reputation I have on TMC. Whatever happens between staff and Jcarter (or Barka) is between them, I seem to no longer be in the middle. My ban was not lifted, but I also did not appeal it, nor do I intend to.

Pick one staffer. Call them a community lead. Call them a Communications Staffer. Call them whatever you like. Make it this persons job to listen to staff AND players and basically summarize ideas to pitch at whatever passes for an Armageddon staff meeting or e-mail to the decision makers.
EDIT - Then send that singular staffer to come do their assigned function and also do it on the GDB and also do it on the IDB
