Okay well I can't find where Barka may have said that because he's deleted his account and it looks like a good majority of his posts.

I just want to know. How is it that 1 persons posts the information and 1 person hosts the information and the community discusses it where some say this is bad and some say this is whatever and some say this is the best thing since sliced bread. How is that reflective of the entire community supporting something or being complicit in the posting or hosting of the information? I mean look at Facebook with its frontpage changes, privacy violations, sketchy data mining practices, and straightup falsifying click through rates to its advertisers. No one says, you should get off Facebook or you implicitly support all of these things.
If that were the case every gamer in the world would have to get off whatever EAs digital distribution platform is and never buy there games again, completely on principal.

And according to the DMCA if the staff wiki is considered copyrighted information, than hacking (via a PHP injection tool) it and posting it is also in violation of it.

Sadly the release of personal information is not illegal. It is however unethical (which is probably why he removed it).

No obviously releasing of real time information is not ideal or beneficial for the game, but...
1 - You can read books, comics, listen to music, and watch movies while knowing things about them BEFORE experiencing them. While you may not be achieving the artists intended experience by having no foreknowledge you can still enjoy it.
2 - You should still be capable of adjusting plots, NPCs, whatever as needed if there is a leak. I mean if someone leaks like... The Templar Handbook of secret passages in and out of Allanak. Then that's kind of a pain, because you don't want to update those, but you also don't want to remove them completely, so maybe just look for people using them who do not have the appropriate templar rank and punish them?

Barhin - The spawn of Barka and Jeshin. Known to pontificate endlessly about matters that have long been discussed by others. Occasionally finds valuable information and relics to trade to the collective known as the Shadow Boards. Their gender is unknown, but rumors have it that when they do find a lover they only sex while fully clothed possibly with multiple knives on them for pleasure and safety.

PS - NPCs are expendable to further plots, to nosey players, to the changing of staff overseeing them. No single NPC should be so important or so integral to the game that it cannot be replaced with a re-imagining or a completely different one. It doesn't take that much energy to think of new NPCs that fit the gameworld as it exists today instead of how it existed years ago.

That depends Oldtwink. 1 - What was the last PC to meet Simul and actually have any significant interactions with them? 2 - How old is Simul is he like all NPCs who remain ageless and in stasis? 3 - If he is of such an age that you could just assume he's died by now or he has not been brought out to players in awhile you can easily rename him, give him a different special title, and possibly even change him from a drovian to a mindbender or a nilazi or a whiran or a mundane assassin. 4 - Taking actions out of character based on OOC information trying to guess who Simul is and game IC flow of actions is actually a pretty good way for sussing out irresponsible roleplayers who maybe shouldn't be trusted with sponsored roles

What if Nyr comes and posts, but he's not technically a producer right now?

What is best for a game is subjective. If you believe that the current direction and development of the game is generally a culture of limitation and removing content instead of expanding it. You could believe that the release of information which shows how much was really IN the game is actually beneficial for highlighting how much has been removed.
In addition to that, I am not so hopeful as to assume everyone on these boards wants what's best for the game. I think many people want to highlight the flaws in the games potentially to protect others from going through what they did or simply to highlight the flaws because the GDB and staff would not let them do it on the primary website.

Hey, Player PunishmentI outline very briefly the different category of punishment and some pros and cons behind each of them. TLDR - I believe in non-permanent punishments and avoid using character based punishments. I think it promotes the best chance of converting problem players into productive players and dodges the issue that they're going to circumvent your bans anyway. FutureMUD Update #1FutureMUD Update #2Did you guys know Japheth is still plugging away on his project? Here is him discussing some of the updates he's put into combat since his last time posting publicly. Incentivized RoleplayShort thread on encouraging roleplay, different methods, and why it matters. We had a brief discussion over here about it since I was curious about the Armageddon perspective because out of all games I have played it does the least to objectively reward players for roleplaying. You can find the Shadow Board discussion right here
