This discussion reminds me of people being surprised when I was wrecking face with a water mage. It's not my fault that most Vivaduan players want to hug people instead of kill them. The healer trope is strong. Yeah, but if they only knew it was you, they could've hid until you got bored, and killed yourself accidentally. lol, that PC was force stored. Too much swag. edit: I have stopped getting my PCs killed on a weekly basis now, though.

X-D's Elkrosian died by the way, no? Though he was pretty much on the way of levelling Tuluk with that freaky guy of his. Are you sure you're not remembering X-D's dwarf krathi? That was a rough time to be a Tuluki grebber. (Post from ages ago, I know.) I remember X-D's draft krathi! I was a rukkian (my first magicker, actually) who hung out with him a bunch. I think he liked my character--I was his go-to to travel around with him fucking up animals and getting into adventures, including meeting a defiler who wanted to teach my rukkian sorcery and who I later learned was a staff avatar. Dude was a stone-cold badass and tons of fun to run around with. (He was also partially the cause of my rukkian's death, in that he cast the firewall that I accidentally spam-walked through.) Whenever I toy with coming back to Armageddon, it's mostly so that I can play a rukkian again. I picked that for my first elementalist because it sounded more fun than vivaduan at the time, but I wasn't really excited about earth magic. Then I started branching and started to see how much fun a rukkian can really have. I'm itching to play one again.

Following X-D around is one of the more dangerous Armageddon past times. He is the ultimate Armageddon badass, but he is also the ultimate example of not needing to be faster than the lion. He only needs to be faster than you.

Upset the balance of power in the Tablelands by being a Seik magicker that wasn't killed by 2 SR Bahak + 5 mundanes. I was gonna trash all of those PCs one by one.
Plus Seik magickers weren't really supposed to be as stupidly powerful as my magicker was. Did a lot of silly shit with her.

Ah, Arm; where bothering the staff favorites will lead to the confiscation of your character. And people wonder why nothing's going on in this game anymore. The playerbase has been systematically conditioned to accept that standing out will get you punished, unless you do it in some completely harmless and uncontroversial way that generates no roleplay.

Let's be real here. Between mages, pretty much regardless of element, it's just who gets the first spell off. That's where the Viv ultimate F U comes in, one Mon silence that actually hits and any other Gicker is in serious trouble as long as the viv doesn't attack them first.

I think I've played total of 1 viv ever. I wore all black shell armor and had a black warsword. Fuck stereotypes. It would also be pretty funny to do now, with the extended subguilds. Viv/Aggressor. You can't damage him no matter what, and he initiates with disarm.

Wait wait wait. So, a half giant elkrosian can kill ANYTHING THAT MELEES due to having a higher HP than it?

I guess, but it's kind of a useless one-trick pony. A half-giant Elkrosian will be crap. Any other mage or ranger would destroy you. Building a mage character to focus on beating melee opponents is nonsensical, it's already the least of your worries. You'll have the mana to cast one spell as a HG mage, so you'd lose to anything where that one trick doesn't work.

So questions.
Do elementals auto attack anything that hits you? Is it worth having an elemental following you around as you Hunt?
Does Viv max poison really kill you in a few seconds?
Does Max Parch/Firebreather cause knock outs?
Can Drovians talk to regular people while they are ethereal? Can they cast on you from the safety of Ethereal?
Can one Krathi max fireball really do over 100 damage? If so, what the fuck does demon fire do, turn you to ash?
On the subject of Krathis, does Fire Armor do any decent damage to attackers to prevent them from just killing you and going to heal like an energy shield?
How does a magicker fight a mek when every character I've ever had dies in two or three hits from a Mek? (Krathi, rukkian etc)

Elementals can be ordered around like companions so you order them to guard your ass while you walk around, or I might be wrong. Parch/firebreather just makes people thirsty af so it might be able to knock out. Viv max poison is op from what I know. Not sure about how fast it kills. Max krathi fireball will gimp your ass and if I'm right Demon fire is just fireball but stronger. Make an elemental to tank the Mek while you sling fire at it.

Powerful enough elementals just wreck mekillots anyway, no need to sling fire.

If powerful enough elementals can wreck mekillots, is having a powerful elemental turn on you basically a death sentence? It seems like it often would be unless
- you receive some warning that the elemental is about to attack, giving you time to flee - they don't use an optimal strategy when their AI controls their attacks
Also, do elementals require components to cast spells that usually require them?
