Kronibas, can you tell us why you decided to post on the GDB now and not a year ago or two years ago or whatever. Inquiring minds want to know. I've already got into it with Nyr on the GDB. It was a huge shit show and he insulted me, edited my post, and really it was ugly until he deleted it. I've also sent in requests and emails. Still don't think it's fair, and I think sending in requests and emails have really made them treat me like shit even more, hence not being able to get a single mastercraft item in without having it edited down to the equivalent of a newbie cloak. |

Although at first I was grimacing about this shitshow, I am really glad it came about, because how Nyr spoke to me in public is exactly how he would have spoken to me in private: like a piece of shit. So I'm glad other players get to see how the producers address their players.
I just remember a time when it wasn't like that. I remember a time when I could play Arm and not be the subject of a critique, when I could write items and receive them as I had written them, and basically just have fun without having my balls busted.
It's not like that anymore.

The only difference here is that both him and Nessalin fucked up and did it in the open, whereas before it was through private correspondence that you couldn't share without it coming back to bite you in the ass. |

I actually checked and evidently I am not banned from the MUD yet. I didn't login all the way but I did get to my character and everything.
Edit - Take this as staff approval to share your request tool highlights of abuses.

Remember when you used to just email the mud and cc the imms you were talking to? Then you'd get a long chain of emails back and forth? To me that was more personal. I like the request tool I really do but it just removes the whole human element from the process. I used to get transferred in game and talked to all the time. I loved that shit.

The request tool makes communication difficult. Maybe I'm wrong but due to the almost fanatical focus on the request tool, I don't think they even use email to communicate with players. I suspect this is because they want everything to be "public" on the staff's side, so senior staff are able to monitor what everyone is doing (as a result this creates more work for them, but that's another matter.) I'm wondering how staff contact players when staff want to make a request. [edited to add] I don't have a request tool they can use.

According to staffers I have spoken with. The request tool is visible by everyone, but they also have a subforum or staff only forum where they post the requests up to discuss them before having someone respond.

Then Vanth, who I had turned down romantically, steps in, after I had argued with Nyr about his Kadian intervention in Sharlo's death:

This must have been Nyr, who realizes Vanth's bias but wasn't willing to right the wrong completely:

You should have fucked your way to the top like the rest of us, Kronibas, it's a lot less tiring than all this vague 'good role-playing' 'great leadership' 'entertaining plots' that we often hear about. Nobody on Staff has the same definition as to what good role-playing and great-leadership qualities actually are, but all of them can acknowledge that a good fuck is a good fuck and certainly deserves a karma raise.

For what it's worth I had a nilazi a few years after kronibas did. She had apartments in Red Storm, Allanak and Tuluk. I would regularly portal between them, as well as into the 'rinth, without staff once raising an issue with it. Although admittedly I did not wander around any of them (except the 'rinth) with any magickal effects of any kind active, only a barrier. And Tuluk I actually -rarely- ventured into.
