I'm sorry but when I read someone using the word "communication" in conjunction with staff/player interaction I tend to throw up in my mouth a little bit. Communication (at least good communication) takes effort by two parties. One who makes an effort to be clear and another making an effort to understand. Unless communication is two-way, with each party able to confirm that they've been understood, actual communication may or may not be achieved, resulting in miscommunication and possible misunderstandings.
This can becomes a problem when it comes to players/staff. When communicating, Staff have certain expectations of each player, that when they ask them a question that they'll respond in a timely fashion with the information to satisfy their inquiry. When the position is revered, the staff are under no obligation to respond. Information primarily travels from players to staff. When a player thinks they may be misunderstood or doesn't understand what staff is saying, I don't believe the staff's priority is to make themselves understood and sometimes players are left wondering what staff are thinking. Often times I think staff may lose their patience with some of their distaste for the job of responding to palyers and it leaks into the communication leaving the player to have to "deal with it" (players aren't allowed to be rude to staff but when staff are rude to players, players have little recourse) because they'd rather just end the communication, their needs are meet and they either aren't concerned or are unable to communication in a way the player will understand, or attempt to get confirmation that they were understood.
I think sometimes staff forget that they've got "all the power" that they are the 500lb gorilla. If they remembered this, they're sure to understand how they're perceived when they become rude and heavy handed.

Communication (at least good communication) takes effort by two parties. It's like i said to @kronibas in another thread: it depends on the definition theyre using. In the medical world, a "communication" happens when a diseased organ infects a neighboring organ to the point that fluids (or solids!) are leaking from one to the other. That definitely describes what goes on between staff and players.

you said ass-eating twice Learn to count. You've eaten so much ass, you're hallucinating it where it doesn't exist.

And I'll take a dose of my own medicine. Sometimes I get annoyed by things players say on the boards here and I react more with a gut reaction (and more visibly, via writing) than I should, regardless of any other factors or any other appropriate action that should be taken. Sorry about that. I'll try to do better about how (or if) I phrase things. There was an apology. Hopefully those wronged feel like this is enough. Well there you go, Kronibas. Nyr has apologized and promised to be even more oblique about his vindictiveness in the future. Do you feel that he's gone far enough in his remorse? Actually, they'll settle for nothing less than a complete restructuring of the Armageddon staff and for Delerak to sit upon the Iron Throne. They're onto us.

I think it is cool for Nyr to apologize.
And I am loling so hard as is Friday right now... That is incredibly funny.
I feel bad for calling for some staff to resign. I actually have really liked some stuff that I have seen on Arm. I think that it is just a really personal game and people get butthurt and stay butthurt for a long time, on both sides of the fence. Stepping back and just chilling the fuck out really helps sometimes, and that's what I intend to do.
I think they should open up a gith clan and let some of us who just get really pissed go play a gith however the fuck we want to for a while, and imms don't even go there, like a meta rinth.
I would have some much fun playing in a gith clan with you bunch of freaks right now, lemme tell ya.

Someone want to crank out an old copy of Arm on a server and let us play a gith clan?

The gith docs were pretty sweet. Dyrinis sent them to me back in the day.

They actually had a cool culture. i'd have loved to get in a heated argument with some gith warrior that escalates into a storytelling contest.

I had the docs too.
It was always my theory that the old conclave headquarters was the original home of the gith, which was described as a massive subterranean area, just like the conclaves base.

Kronibas, can you tell us why you decided to post on the GDB now and not a year ago or two years ago or whatever. Inquiring minds want to know.
