while bhag, halaster, and shalooonsh have their super mage power-fantasy clans full of custom-code and specially made areas for them, people playing the bread and butter of Arm and by the docs got jack shit. not at all surprising that people did, and still do, resent the staff of that era for it. i wouldn't rank loon with halaster and bhag re: favoritism. the thing about loon was that he would throw crazy magic shit anywhere it would stick. this was problematic in its own ways, but i'd say he was pretty even handed. |

eh it's not so much accusing them of favoritism, as much as they create this content for themselves and what are the "fringes" of the game, as opposed to the bread and butter people. iirc shalooonsh was playing One Fang the dragonthrall during the end of the world crisis, in a cool evil lair somewhere in the tablelands that had guards. there was crazy custom magick echoes and shit that the people got who played there, unique stat boosts and effects, etc. they went out on cool epic battles doing badass stuff.
now compare that to noble house clans, merchant houses, byn, etc. they get jack shit. mundane players overall got jack shit. oh wait, no, we got the xenomorphs -- I mean kryl -- which got beefed up until they functioned as essentially a deathroom meant to keep mundane players out of an area. it sucked, and it felt like being a mundane during that time period was to serve as fodder for other in high-magick roles to get to steamroll over and have their fun little power fantasy.

i understand your criticism but i think that for all of his faults loonsh actually made efforts to make the game fun for everyone, whether or not you agree with how he went about doing that. also he was "playing" bleys kadius just as much if not more (tho kadius got a lot of magick swag too)

i agree 100% he made the game more fun. loonsh as a clan staffer was great, I wish more staff were like him, and I definitely appreciate all that he did, especially how he would just randomly hop in and animate situations to bring them more to life.
i just take issue with the whole 10% of the playerbase that's far removed from the themes of the game get a lot of cool new toys and love while other people get ignored.
