I believe the vivaduan's cure spell has a particularly nasty effect on vampires as well.

I remember watching Spider get steamrolled into the negatives by a bunch of 'rinther NPCs when Kailer was collecting bodies to spam cast on. When some guy brought his Viv friend along to help, everyone in the know was quick to say "get that guy the -fuck- away from Spider".

That is correct. It's to help prevent guild sniffing, etc. 

with ext. subs elementalists can pass themselves pretty easy with a normal description

They're basically on the same level as extended subguilds. I don't know the skill levels, but I suspect they're comparable with some of the extended subguilds even exceeding the caps from psi/sorc subguilds (but that's just speculation).

This was a peculiar period in the history of the 'rinth. The Guild had at least three psionicists in it as well as Quick and several ghouls. Outside of vendettas with various mages, their main feuds were with Warlord Kharad Paravin Tor and this one idiot blue-robe, something slate-skinned something. They made life in the 'rinth a bit interesting for a change, but they also did a lot of damage to the game by just being way too prominent and assertive.

Quick's backstory has already been explained. He returned as a "vampire" elkrosian whose elkros powers gradually changed into nilazi powers. Being a vampire, he ate people and could only be killed via Dispel Magic. He wasn't too bad of a guy and generally didn't just PK people for no reason, but throughout these months, the only way to play in the 'rinth was by basically fellating these guys non-stop. They'd go around and capture quite literally everybody they saw in the alleys and question/torture them, and if you begged for mercy and stroked their egos, they'd allow you to live and mind your own business as long as you didn't do anything noteworthy. It meant that the 'rinth was unplayable for anybody who doesn't like to play a sniveling, groveling wretch, of course. So many people got killed simply because they got snatched up and you could just see they were OOCly sick of having to be some powercrew's bitch so they'd just mouth off and die with a shrug. Still, Quick and Gin didn't just murder blindly.

Gin was the Guild leader and a mindbender. Not a very interesting guy, and his being Turkish meant that his English was really choppy. Made for some very weird dialogue and emotes, but he was a nice guy and didn't overly abuse his powers. Pof also played a previous Guild leader, an assassin who was known for killing a templar and going to Tuluk. He posted some logs in the story section.

This was basically right after the Reborn announcement, when staff were letting damn near everybody play any class they wanted. The game was FILLED with mages and mindbenders. Gin eventually stored and Quick was told by staff that he essentially had to store or become a nobody with no connection to the active parts of the game. Eventually the Guild died out and went back to being nothing, as it almost always is.
