It's reaching, yes, because they've built this facade where they'll just laugh off any criticism of any of their actions. But by definition, they are raiders -- no matter how ineffectual they are. I think it's incredibly funny in the instance of evilcabbage/saellyn. I mean.... one of maybe -five- people I could actually identify as a person with their real name and contact info. Hell, a few years back, we were facebook friends. And so of course I specifically am the one he comes over here to try and stir shit with. It feels like he's trying to goad me into doxxing him because he knows I can. I won't though. We actually are better than them. How many times have any of us done the stupid, reaching bullshit he pulled this morning on the official game forums? None that I can think of offhand. |

Don't they have a goal? Don't they have a clear agenda here, to both discredit our criticisms and heighten themselves in the eyes of the jaded staff they're appealing to? I call them sycophants for a reason; back when people were getting banned for posting here, they wrapped up shop and deleted their own accounts because they were "disgusted" with the level conversation here -- one that they directly contributed to being so low. Now, that this Sleepless guy has come out of the ether with the intention of slandering someone, and we're responding with facts that won't be posted on the GDB under fear of arbitration -- now they return. Now they see that their goal from before is still valid.
They still feel the need to take the time out of their worthless lives and, instead of playing the game they're so invested in, come here and just post shit. There may be some psychological issue here, and I think some of them really need some help. They need to realize that something as abstract as karma isn't worth destroying their own self-esteem and wasting their time shilling for. I hope they get the help they need.

You might have a point of truth in there somewhere, but it's so drenched in hyperbole it's easy to skim right over.
Personally, I'd like for more GDBers to actually come here and discuss stuff so that some change for the betterment of the game I hold dear might come around, however unlikely that scenario would be. Soaking posts in so much vitriol doesn't much help their attitude toward us, or any likelihood of other players getting a grip and seeing this forum for what it actually is-- which is not some den of Arm-hating villains wringing their hands for the opportunity to shit on someone's plotz.
Hell, I myself first came here white-knighting for staff, not because I was shilling for karma, but because I was ignorant and really didn't know any better.
I have a hard time imagining I'm the only to come here with that line of thought, but I don't have a hard time imagining that posts like that might scare off people who might actually be down to join the discussion.

Well, that, and because I was kind of tired of not knowing what the fuck was up with monsters that my PC should know about, planning a PC's background, guild/subguild choice compently, and knowing the little things they'd know (if they weren't born yesterday) in order to get by depending on location. Did I look at skillsheets and cheats? Yeah, I was curious. It didn't ruin anythin for me, it didn't cause me to play my one mage PC unrealisticly. I have a sheet here with all the rukkian spells on it and while I'm looking at it I'm rping my Rukkian systematicly trying to deduce what does what and growling in frustration, then his teacher came along, and slowly walked and guided him throuh the words and logic of magick, which, was worth all the trouble of my PC failing time and again at something I coudl easily look up and just do if I wanted to. If spoilers ruin the game for you, you'e not really immersing yourself in the character you're playing, I mean, develop some maturity. These boards are no abomination, no one's FORCING you to look at them, if you choose to look at skillsheets or spoilers, and it ruins the game for you, then that's on you. That said... I have no problem calling most of them a bunch of ignorant, troll-tastic suckups. There are some exceptions. |

I just want to clear the air about something. I don't know Barka or even who he is, but coming in here posting that derpy story just wasn't right. Here's why: When the game was hacked all those years ago, the fucking code (and a lot of other things)was given out like candy! And it may still be out there if you know where to look. In other words, Barka doesn't necessarily = roommate. So what's the end game here?
This us vs them thing is still lame. Most of the people that condemn these boards read these boards, use triggers, cheat and are shitheads in general.
"Hi, I haven't played the game in 13-14 years and I randomly found these boards....." GTFOH with that cheese.

another post full of misinformation and shit that didn't happen this happened. i didn't really care and thought he was being melodramatic about ~~~video game secrets~~. ...and yep, he shared his opinion with me. shocking, i know. this is horse shit. i relayed what i was told. i didn't confirm jack shit beyond 'yo this is what barka told me'. i would never 'confirm' anything 'beyond a reasonable doubt' because i had no hand whatsoever in the leak. if i don't know how the information made it to be, why would i be confirming anything? i also did not care how the information came to me. and i still don't give a shit. bullshit. here's a couple of posts that sum up my views on the situation clearly: also for the record i legitimately do not give a shit about making arm a better game or w/e gets ascribed to this place. i'm not carrying any ulterior motives here then getting a personal enjoyment out of these forums. If my families personal address and our personal info were given to a website which generally churns based off hate.. I'd be uncomfortable, it wouldn't be fair to leave my family or myself exposed to any further escalation for the sake of a FREE game, especially a FREE game that only me and a couple of others pay to keep available for the public. i have posted multiple times, including an announcement, that if there is personal info to contact me and it will be scrubbed out of there. nobody is getting doxxed. it's doubtful whether or not the original wiki page with information was even accessed considering barka yanked it within 20 minutes of posting the file. the rest i dont care about tbh. responding to a poster who told me i was an awful person for posting hacked information: with that aside, i comprehend your stance perfectly fine. and i comprehend the stance of others perfectly fine. but i'm completely unmoved and don't really give a shit beyond satisfying my own curiosity and that of others. that's not a justification or defense either because frankly i don't particularly feel the need to justify nor defend myself about this, and debating the ethics of whether or not to share leaked information regarding the lore of a custom dungeons and dragons campaign to people who want to know about it matters to me as much as discussing whether or not a True Brit takes their tea with one or two lumps of sugar. over the course of multiple days i said i didnt really care. yeah i don't promote the acts of hacking but i'm not going to quibble about the legal status of it lol. i don't care how this forum is "seen" though. lmao why is "i dont give a shit" so hard for these people to understand? so many posts fall into this tone of "ah-ha, i've caught jcarter in my logic trap! he said his site is unmoderated but he banned me for using slurs! what a hypocrite" get over yourself. |

I just think you wouldn't have banned someone like PPP or Bitter if they name-dropped someone. You'd probably edit it out though. The irony being neither one of us would do that, and that it's well-known I gave Barka the heads up that he missed a couple names during his clean-up so that he could (and did) get them off the wiki. If your stance is that you simply don't care, that's fine. But pretending this conversation didn't happen or that you didn't express the points of view I've stated you expressed is just a lie. You did. End of story. You can deny it if you choose to, after the fact. But, that is just a testament to your character. You would be better served to say, "Yeah, I said that at the time but now I just don't care.". But pretending you didn't say it, and then also going out of your way to point out that even if you did say it that you really don't care just says something about you as a person, and not the issue at hand at all.
