should have done this a long time ago, i might actually play to see how it is in a month or two. they need to double the sponsored roles in allanak (stagger it out a bit) to accomodate for the new players, and things might get really interesting. One of the things I hope happens is that there are enough players in Allanak to really fill out all the clans. Clan dynamics in 2006-2008 were great because there were so many bodies in each and every clan. It allows plots to actually happen and guess what? They involve way more people. As it stands right now it's like 2 militia dudes and 12 bynners going on an outing with no real clan-to-clan conflict.

I challenge any one of you here to name an inspiring, motivating PC in modern day Arm. Everyone you encounter now is a grinder, dotting their i's and crossing their t's purely to be a "good RPer". But with zero substance. The truly inspiring players are gone. me rp gud <-----------

The truly inspiring players aren't gone. They're hidden. They learned, stayed for a while, got high karma roles, and are playing that psionicist and sorcerer you've probably interacted with on rare occasions, forget they existed for a while, and suddenly see them again. They're still there. Just real hard to find, and real hard to get in with.

I dont think inspiring players are gone either. The game itself has become super restrictive and a victim of its own docs though and thats what really happend in Tuluk. It really did feel like North Korea, maybe that was the design, but it didnt translate to good rp.

The same reason why Tuluk is about to close - is the same reason that this board came into existence.
There's a lot of overlap, at any rate, and what it boils down to is a bunch of fuckery.

Youre not awake. you're hallucinating. It's a narcotc-induced fantasy where the staff bgan their final lap in the downward spiral lol he said began the final lap of the downward spiral began I personally think closing Tuluk was the right move. The docs have been changed repeatedly, it's lost its identity, players have varying opinion on how to play it, staff evidently are having a hard time keeping it staffed. All in all closing it (should have been IC too) will be for the best. i would say the best thing they could do is rboot it to a pre-nyr time, tell players the restored docs are now the only version of Tuluk, and slowly readd nobls and bards. Only the last stp would require regular work by the staff and could be postpond indefnitely if people didn't come back. One of Nyrs bullshit attempts to spin this was to claim it "benefited the user" because it freed up staff. the truth is staff leavng tuluk unstaffd would have had the exact same effect on staff workload without dejecting a playerbase supposedly comparable to Naks. Nyr said it best: the game has changed. Talia too: plots are out of our hands. I challenge any one of you here to name an inspiring, motivating PC in modern day Arm. Everyone you encounter now is a grinder, dotting their i's and crossing their t's purely to be a "good RPer". But with zero substance. The truly inspiring players are gone. I actually know a solid player who was driven off. And the person i'm talkng about did nothing but create activty. IF ONLY SAID PERSON WOULD POST HERE HINT HNT SO I COULD TYP LIKE A NORMAL PRSON AGAIN. i mean... so said person could share ther stories. of cours. Oh, and I completely agreed with your post. glad you fnally joined us too. Whether you want to be grateful or not is up to you, but I myself am glad about the end of mindbending templars(even the new ones had some powers), shitty bard RP being rewarded with clan life and high social status, everyone and their mother having noble backing and being untouchable, safety from all threats because playing a criminal is impossible, people being ridiculously nice to everyone and going 'but I'm totally still scheming you guyze subtlety gosh' after being called out on it,' and people not talking about a goddamn thing because even though there was a noble civil war yesterday mentioning it would be a no-no. But if you're not, that's okay, too. I just think it's funny to read some of the responses in this thread while knowing what the 'so about Tuluk' on these forums looks like. yes, but many of us whove complaind about Tuluk also gave fedback about how they could fix it. And did so in sevral threads. That isnt what i'd characterze as whining. besides, most people need to vent bfore they can focus on actually coming up with solutions. I think a good consequence of Tuluk being shut down will be that Luir's and RSV will finally have a stable playerbase that indie groups will stick around in. Too often you see peeps hang out in RSV or Luir's for maybe a week before fucking off to a city/dying. The indie groups/hunters belong in Luir's and RSV. This will be pretty cool to see those places more populated (hopefully). But if people arent playng in Allanak, how will they b involved in the world-shapng plots? No no no... ths plan was to bolster clan membership especially with nobles. RSV will be next on the chopping block. hence my sympathy reaction for @armqwertytwo's post even though i dont know exactly who s/he was in the game.

It doesn't really hurt me personally when people say there are no more inspiring PCs, because I know my PC isn't among that number, but yeah, I know a few. Arm may not be a conducive environment for them to thrive, but they exist. And I wish people wouldn't say things like that, because maybe the players of those PCs do read this board and think that they aren't appreciated for the hard work they put in.
