It's one of the flaws in chargen. A staff member will be specifically assigned to animate your evil twin while you're online. When offline, they will question their life choices and why they aren't getting paid.

Japheth came down with a cold and it appears he was cutting a very tight release date meaning that the game was not pre-stage and he just had to cut the ribbon but that there was actual development he wanted to finish. No one could have predicted he'd have gotten sick and lost 3 days to that.
Supposedly it is coming online this monday sometime.

I checked last night there is no official word yet. I think Japheth is just focusing on his game quality and operating under the say nothing until it's ready. I imagine he doesn't want 2 false starts.
