It's a war. I'm surprised more of the war mongers aren't moving to fill the voids (in Tuluk I guess) to help the conflict to get going. Is playing in the newly revised Tuluk that abysmal?

In my opinion the staff already blew the war (which Tuluk was winning). If we go back to Volcano cutscene you may have noticed that Tuluki PCs were tearing shit up and it was paused for the Southern forces to get their cutscene victory. Why play in a war where the victory is not only pre-determined by NPCs but you do not even get the illusion of impact. Like they couldn't have had the PCs duke it out and go... EVEN THOUGH NAKS EVIL PLAN SUCCEEDED SEVERE CASUALITIES WERE DEALT TO THEIR FORCES CRIPPLING THEIR MILITARY AMBITION FOR YEARS! or something.

There's been war stuff. The recent Tuluki RPT was basically a foot in the door for war stuff. These roll-call Templars are going to prepare for attacks on one another as it goes. I'll be surprised if they live 6 months.
I know about the year no-talky rule, but the concept of there being no war things happening now is just false. Maybe it's being inadequately represented, but it's still a thing. Hopefully it doesn't fall through after this roll-call.

im glad to hear that there was a war rpt, and i'd ask for details but if you were there then sharing would out you as one of the 3 ppl playing in tuluk now. Still, its been 2 years and theres been one rpt. was it even player driven or was it another scripted nyrpt?

As far as I know, Nyr has no pull in Tuluk other than advisement since he undertook Allanak. It was done by a PC Tuluki Templar, as far as I could tell.
It was more of the start of a chapter of events, rather than an event itself. I expect the staff to build off of it more when the rolecalls come through, and actually get the ball rolling to deadly levels.
My gut feeling is that the rolecall will kick off a good year of North-South slap fighting. Good opportunity for it. I'd be disappointed if it didn't.

I place part of the blame on pcs. The Templar go out of their way to run any non Tuluki out of town. Might make sense but not going to make things fun or interesting if you tell everyone dumb enough to visit to get the fuck out.

I must've misinterpreted it. Sounded to me like they're trying tto clean out the old garbage and build up the new changes because the new changes came with old garbage that just wouldn't go away. Hard to implement anything fun, if the crap that made it crappy (mostly other players spending all their time mudsexing or sitting idle or spam-twinking steal with their hoods up or mindbending the ruination of everything) won't leave. I know there's plotlines going on but they never seem to go anywhere. From my perspective in playing it doesn't look like stonewalling from staff as much as it is inaction and storage from key players. There are definitely things that CAN be done that I know staff doesn't have a problem with. Just needs people to do those things. Til then, my character and others all we can do is sit there waiting for someone who has the IC authority to do something and come up with the ideas that involve everyone else. So if staff wants to bring in new PCs and TELL them what those ideas should be, more power to them. Maybe something interesting will happen. Thats hilarious, Nyr. The only honest things you said were "There are definitely things that CAN be done that I know staff doesn't have a problem with." and "So if staff wants to bring in new PCs and TELL them what those ideas should be, more power to them." both those honest things are parts of the problem. Incidentally, Nyr, a lot of the people you announced you had a problem with were licensed thieves/assassins who were loyal to clans. which is why you cleaned out the "old garbage" by making the Shartist system that drove most of Tuluks non-sexxing playerbase to store by earlu December. which is what you blamed on Christmas last year. fucking lol, can someone find me the quote that's somewhere on here from nyr where he said that tuluk is doing just fine with player numbers because he did a who check at a random time and saw half the players there or something? I think youre referring to the quote immortalized at the top of this post: armageddonmud.boards.net/post/7250Players play for fun (at least that's why I pay). Solution for Tuluk: Make it fun (and keep it simple). If staff builds it, players will come. Players were there until the staff broke it you know whats fun? lasting consequences. destroy tuluk another high magick hrpt would be awes-- Cmon man, you know destroyng Tuluk would be meaningless. itd be another opportunity for the wannabe writers on the staff to subject anyone dumb enough to participate to a textual lightshow. And a couple of them would be randomly killed for teh dramaz. I place part of the blame on pcs. The Templar go out of their way to run any non Tuluki out of town. Might make sense but not going to make things fun or interesting if you tell everyone dumb enough to visit to get the fuck out. if it weren't a policy handed down by the staff theyd have been force-stored for doing that. It also wasnt pcs who coded checkpoints to keep non-citizens limited in where they can go in the city.
