I dunno, it seems like to me you can still fuck shit up if you choose the right sorc. guild with your main.
It still costs 8 karma to play one? I'm still not clear on how you get karma these days. 1 point for simply playing for a while. 1 point for not being a fucktard (which is a feat in itself for some). Then you have to ask for it (lol). Where does the other six karma come from?

The categories I know of are longevity, RP, magick, leadership, communication...you can get multiple points for each, I think. But it's arbitrary as hell.

correct me if i'm wrong but the fastest and easiest way to get 8 karma has, and still is, to basically play for 2 or so years and then get on staff which shouldn't be too hard considering it seems like every 4 or 5 months they're looking for new storytellers (lol at the most misleading job title in the world)

Far as I know you're only partly right jcarter. You get full karma only while you're on staff. If you become legend you go back to the karma you had before you got staffed.
On topic, don't you only need 5 karma to play one of those extended subguilds, since it's a special app anyway and you can special app +3 of your current karma? That's how I read it.
