is there anything else you would like to discuss about this? maybe you'd like to defend children simulating sex acts with adults through text as being somehow acceptable?

Maybe I would just like to prevent it from happening again so:

A) the adult in the situation isn't horrified to learn they've been simulating sex acts with minors

B) younger players don't feel like it's EXPECTED of them in some instances.

I will never forget being fourteen and having another player on staff communicate to me that a certain PC remarked that i was just "laying there" while she was trying to put the mudsex moves on me.

You can try to characterize what I was saying however you want. People don't abstain from using the internet because child porn is present, but that doesn't mean they endorse child porn. People use Tor to access the Deep Web everyday but the vast majority don't go for the CP cites.

but at the end of the day, trying to attack me for saying that kinda crap is bullshit and needs to stop in order for us to have a healthy game... just seems strange and reaching in a way.

do we put a waiver up that any child can just click "i am 18" like every child from since the internet was born has done?

do we fuck the game out of any new players ever registering by requiring photocopies of birth certificates and drivers licenses?

do we make the minimum starting age in-game 18 and gloss over the fact that young players will still get into shit they probably shouldn't?

should ooc are you a little boy be added to the consent rule?

Uh, no. Has nothing to do with someone named Holmes. The term refers to someone living in the same home territory/town/neighborhood.

Honestly, I think text-sex with minors is the least of our worries here, as, consider the whole Grand Theft Auto scenario, well, at least they're not doing it for real, which they very well might be without a sandbox environment. I became very aware of my sexual interests, painfully aware, at the age of six. Many of you likely were spared that until you were willing and understood the potential consequences, if so, good for you. I was not so lucky, I got caught, shamed, and it took years upon years of self-analysis before I could finally forgive myself for what was, at its worst, a naive mistake... but if someone had said, when catching me playing with myself, well, it's completely natural, but trust me when I say you should wait until you're older, I would have felt a lot better... than being shamed for just exploring.

If minors are looking for text-sex, there's much easier places to look... but it's why we have consent rules, you can always OOC no, I'd rather fade, or, OOC: No, that's grosser than broccoli, and people should respect that.

Trust me, somewhere on the internet, minors are doing things, and you can't stop them because you're not their dad... not in Arm though, most are too lazy to venture into such a horrifically difficult environment to survive in, although, I bet it DOES happen from time to time, Kronibas is living proof. For those exceptions, well, they likely knew the risks when they signed up, and not only signed up, but made a character and got good enough to survive long enough, then OOC'ed the words, consent.
