I think what we need is content.

There's plenty of good content that gets posted here but there are just as many people who come and stir the pot/troll/agitate people. 

I promise you that someone like grumble wouldn't act up as much - and even myself probably wouldn't get so pissed at times - if there was less incoming hostility. 

I made a big long post within the past week that ended with a plea for people to chill out, and it seems almost immediately, people start shit posting and trolling more. 


Maybe dcdc is right and that, in large part, the use for some of the board has run its course. I don't think so, though. 

I think think there will always be a need for an alternative place of discussion from the GDB to help keep things as objective as possible - a place to tell the other side of stories. 

The bad part about that is that, when you try to have a wide-open forum for EVERYONE to post, unmoderated for the most part, is that a lot of shit gets thrown in as well. I don't think the answer to that is to just start moderating heavily, but maybe have some self reflection on what is important when adding to a discussion. 

Lots of people come here JUST to troll. Admittedly, I take the bait far too often, and the result is just ugliness, more often than not. Which is what they were going for. 

It's like, hey, let's go prod some obviously bitter people with a stick just to goad them into a response. That's what there has been a lot of in the past couple of weeks. 

Well, staff is making an effort at positive change, sadly, they have a big hole to dig out of, but I, for one, believe they can do it... code will change to, but you won't find out on th GDB, and you also won't find out here, but it's unlikely to change so drasticly that an update is needed.

All part of my cunning plan to be the compromise candidate.  When it comes time for one of our number to ascend, I am ready to become staff and remake at least a corner of Arm into a miscreant's paradise.

That sounded true. I just looked up the etymology (two articles each) for homeboy and homie and didn't find anything with CTRL + F 'holm'

If you want to ignore the fact that minors have been exposed to graphic sexual content on ArmageddonMUD when that is flat out against the law, be my fucking guest.

Raising awareness that SOME PLAYERS are MINORS and you should be careful of that when simulating graphic, sexual acts because it might be with a *little boy* is something that has went unignored on that game for a long time.

In the Real World, you will find that graphically simulating sex acts is minors is FUCKED, no maybe if it's just textual, and for you to try to make ME the bad guy for pointing this out just demonstrates how your vision is entirely disconnected from what is and is not appropriate to expose minors to.

Do we need to start a vote? Does there need to be a poll put up asking the question, "Do you think it's cool your kids to simulate sex acts with adults?"

For fuck's sake, at least jazet has a waiver that must be signed as a preventative against shit like that.

Meanwhile, fuckers on Arm would rather bust people's balls for using contact in a way that doesn't align with their vision instead of doing more to ensure children are not enacting sexual scenes in graphic detail with adults on ArmageddonMUD.

Fuck you if you disagree.
