I used to be Anaiah on the Armageddon Staff. I am willing to answer any questions you guys might have here within the realm of reason. I have no interest in giving away what players are playing who, the information on any level of any of the other players, or anything about any current plots. Questions about processes/experience/etc, though, please feel free to ask.

if you want to ask a question without outing yourself go ahead and PM it to me and I'll post it here I would like to encourage anyone and everyone who has even a shadow of a doubt that it could out you (and any concern if it would) to do this. It took less than 2 hours from my creating my account here to be banned on the actual GDB. Although I have yet to check on the effects it's had (if any) on my game account.

fun facts from the tell all-
staff are allowed to play multiple PCs (Thistle had 10 when he left staff) staff get 8 karma after a waiting period Uruz used to log in as his sorcerer PC and harass templars that he would monitor with his staff account at the same time

PMed question:
How does wisdom effect the rate of learning skills? How do agility, endurance, strength, and wisdom in the non obvious ways? Can you talk about the pros and cons of the advanced warrior weapons as well as the special properties? Are there any wild Gaj? Can you really tame and ride a roc? What's the deal with the shadow moon? How does wisdom really effect learning skills?

* nyr dickpix: we must know
* Also, can you give any insights on nessalin/Adhira? Both seem like genuine assholes.
* Why'd you leave?

What's the deal with the shadow moon? How does wisdom really effect learning skills? RE: Wisdom www.armageddon.org/help/view/WisdomOn Zalanthas, those who have high wisdom often learn from their mistakes quicker, magickers regenerate faster, and languages are picked up more easily. (Direct from the help file.) Higher wisdom means learning quicker. Lower wisdom means learning more slowly. The second question, I do not quite understand. RE: Warrior weapons: No, I cannot. As someone who's never had any interest in warriors or melee combat or pk in general, I had no desire to try and dig up any new information on them so you all are more than likely much more well versed in those than I am. RE: Wild Gaj: Virtually, probably. Codedly, definitely, though not necessarily something a player will ever be able to find. RE: Roc: It's been done in the past as part of a storyline. About a decade ago. As to whether or not it is still possible, it would likely take a lot of work and a lot of working with staff to make it happen, but there's not any certainty that you will or won't be able to without some sort of attempt to communicate the idea with your clan staff. RE: The Black Moon: That was not something that had any sort of documentation when I was on staff, and as I was not included in whatever led to it coming about, I have no knowledge of this. RE: Second wisdom question: The higher your wisdom, the faster you are able to increase your skill levels, and thus 'learn' skills. As is, above, alluded to in the help file.

Both seem like genuine assholes. * Why'd you leave? nyr: I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend... which means I can't give any credence to the rumor. I will believe it when Ourla, or Nyr, tells me this is the case. Mostly because that's kind of a big thing to be said/believed about someone, so I would not want to contribute to heresay on the topic. Nessalin has interesting game ideas, or did when last I worked with him. He was around a lot less when I was than Morgenes. Adhira seemed like a vacant landlord for much of the time as for years her only real duty on a daily basis was special applications and it seemed she did not actually play for... any of the time I was on staff or any time since then as far as I'm aware. I left because my father wound up in a wheel chair and needed someone to care for him. Which required me stepping into a living situation where I did not even have -food- to eat for 6 months, let alone internet. I had no real choice there, as I didn't know how long the situation would last and an indefinite hiatus is just as shitty for a staff member to pull as it is a clan boss to pull.

Thanks, though I'm not sure. It turned out that he was still doing meth when I got up there, and I gave him a while and multiple chances before I just cut ties and came home. I've not talked to him since.

Its really sad to hear you were having such a hard time. Esspecially since the interactions I had with you were always awesome to say the least. I hope that the fact you are posting means things have improved greatly for you, if not, don't ever hesitate to reach out.
Trying to come up with some questions for you, but you don't seem to have been too interested in the coded side of things so questions like whats the best armor are out. And clearly you are too nice to say things that may even potentially offend anyone, so asking more details on Nyr's is probably out too(?). Glad you confirmed my suspicions on adhira at least.
How about this question then, in your opinion what are some of the cooler aspects of the coded game, something you discovered and saw as a player or staff that made you think 'oh thats really neat', anything that players might not readily notice perhaps or just anything that comes to your head?

The kruth arcana deck is perhaps one of my favorite items in the game. I've only seen a single copy in existence, and finding out the difference between it and a normal kruth deck is something that people who read tarot cards in real life can appreciate right off, most likely, but whose origins and the finer nuances of are genuinely and truly best left to be found out about in the game itself as they -are- so rare. Regarding the question of things that may offend anyone, it's less that and more a reluctance to act in a way that feels like character assassination of anyone. That happening to me on the discussion boards is what finally put me over the edge and caused me to start posting here, rather than just lurking here. Nyr is a jerk. He's very terse, he's not kind, he doesn't sugar coat things. But for the most part... he is like this with everyone. This is just his style of communicating. That said, like with every staff member (and every player as well) who has been around for a while, there are a handful of people who are on his bad side. While I will try to answer questions in a more generalized way regarding other staff, I don't want to delve into things that are 'personal' with them either because I would not want that done about me, so it seems like a bad precedent to act in that fashion, and an invitation to such a thing. Things about the coded game that are particularly interesting or awesome: The changing of the moons is very much pattern based and they do have cycles, but the cycles are more related to when they rise and set. The plane of Nilaz. It is a fascinating and gory place. There is an entire 'fake' grey forest that is not actually in the game that's fantastical as hell and really awesome, like blue tembo. Things have improved a bit, but the future looks brighter than the past, in my opinion.

Let me ask you this then, in your opinion what would the best way for a player to find out about things ICly be? Take for example your kruth arcana deck, assume I stumble upon this rare item in game as a simple grebber. Who could I possibly turn to for information? Templar (who would I guess be asking the staff?) Or say I want to find out more about the stange gate in the tablelands (templar again?) who would probably not bother with me or wonder why i had such an interest?.
In a place where knowledge amongst the players is scares and knowledge within the character we play ourselves even scarcer what do you see being the most effective way of gather information about obscure or rare things in the game?
I always wanted to find out more about the black moon for example, sadly there doesn't seem to be many avenues to gain that knowledge, less so now that there might not actually be knowledge to gain in the first place. Just a dead plot device it seems.
