I've been saying a lot of pro-imm stuff lately. But it's mostly because I think they should be given thumbs up when it's due, and given a boo, when they deserve it. Often enough, they deserve a lot of both. Anyway.
Nyr's handling of the that thread about Tuluki shadow artists. Big thumbs up. Basically responding to everyone's posts, is very impressive. If Imms had that kind of communication on various things, Arm would be a very great place.
That's my humble opinion anyway.

armqwertytwo I think you have license to do whatever the fuck you want because you're like the golden standard of poster that I point to whenever someone yells about this place being a circlejerk.
on an unrelated note, I tried reading those docs about 'shadow artists' (i thought it was going to be about people who made shadow puppets) and at this point I'm 90% sure that nyr has asperger's because wow is that a needlessly complex and convoluted system. also, choice quote:

I'm not disgruntled or jaded.
I've never had a bad experience with Staff so far-- they seem to do really well if you keep them updated and inform them of when you're about to do stuff that would pull in a reaction from the virtual world.
I'm just here for mechanics and seekrits.

I get it that we aren't happy lately with what Nyr has been doing, but we really don't need to resort to these childish digs in order to get changes made. Just saying.

I'm not into the ad hominems myself. To be honest I've never even had any experience with Nyr. I just never played during his tenure.

It's true that he was a bit of a jerk on the GDB in his early days as admin, but to be fair, he's actually gotten a lot more polite on the GDB because he was probably told by other staff and players how he came across. Apart from that, it's just reality that any admin is going to sound like "a dick" to some people, because one of their jobs is to say no. Players want a ton of stuff, and a lot of that stuff is at odds with each other. Some of them are just going to have to be told no. Everyone sounds like a dick when they're telling you no.

Or will it forever look like a case of "baww staff didn't let me get what i wanted/get away with it and im really thin skinned what dicks" to those that haven't had bad experiences with staff after so many years?
