I think I have a controversial take on Aromit, which is fine we are all allowed to disagree, but I always had an issue with him
Majikal? (I forget his pre-staff name.) Was a guy I played with when I first started the game. He was fairly cool to me, I think me being young and really dumb amused him, and I never had issues with him. I didn't really interact with him much after that because Tuluk closed, I took a small break from the game, and came back much later and decided to play in Allanak. It then took me about 6 months to stop being dog shit at the game, and a year after that to 'fully master' and be self sufficient with no crazy faults. That was around a year or more at this point.
The issue I have is once he hit staff it feels like he felt the need to not be cool and just roleplay as a slightly less cunty Shalooonsh, which makes him still very cunty. He'd argue for the sake of arguing in the Discord about things he had no clue on (Example: I was asking if player created tribes could add more members naturally, as the terminology wasn't clear and seemed to imply 'no'. He started defending this EXTREMELY so. Like it was his child. It was infallible. It could not be any more perfect. I then got on the request tool and asked and I think Shabago, or someone else, just went 'Nah they can add people if they'd like through RP'. Aromit had no fucking idea what was going on and just dick-hopped on the docs because he couldn't foresee a future where something written down was wrong)
I'm sure some people had better interactions with him but anytime he'd join the discord chat I'd usually dip out soon after.
I know a lot of people hated Akariel and I got along decently with him, so it could be a situation like that.
Was he 'literally the worse' to me? No not really. Is him resigning something I dislike? Also no, not really.

When staff pets say Armageddon administration should be modeled after the military: www.cnn.com/2020/07/25/us/fort-hood-soldier-deaths-trnd/index.htmlBack to the thread at large, however, Aromit had a reputation for being pretty pervy. That, and it was super bad optics when Arm staff would be in voice chat together for hours and hours and hours, playing games together that you weren't allowed to join unless you were one of the "chosen few" ... while ignoring requests and emergency wishes. He was one of those constantly ignoring his staffing duties to go play video games with friends. That's fine -- but in the Arm discord where everyone can see you ignoring them? Eesh, bud. And he got really upset if people would tag him or ask him if they could look at their old request while he was visible in voice chat, lol. Whoops. It just really seems to be circling the drain, and it's a crying shame. They could have avoided all of this, but they have no public relations skills and no project management going on. Ah, well. It was sometimes fun while it lasted.

It was sometimes fun while it lasted. I'm not saying this is the case here, but I think for some, probably a vast majority of players and especially staff, Arm is their only community they are a part of. There's this thing in sociology called your 3rd place, the first two are Home and Work, your 3rd place is pretty important to your mental health and all that, for a lot of people it's the gym, a game club, church, internet cafe, whatever. If you've gotten on staff at Arm you were probably super dedicated and obsessed with the game and it was your 3rd place. This really isn't a good thing because you get people like Shalonsh or Aromit where their whole social circle is Arm. In your example you talk about them playing video games in Arm discord, really this shouldn't happen and is pretty unprofessional. Take that shit to your personal discord. I played League of legends with Aromit several times when I returned and he was fun to play with and chat with, we rarely talked about Arm. Long story short once I found out he pkilled me and I made my video about it which I'm sure he and every staff member watched, he left my discord and I never heard from him again. It doesn't bother me in the slightest I just think that when it comes to these types of staffers they will always pick Arm over everything else in life, even making a new friend or whatever. It's also ironic you mention he could be "pervy" which I never picked up in our brief conversations, but the way we actually met was he asked my wife out of the blue on discord to play League of Legends. Once I showed up in the lobby/voice chat and he found out it was my wife it was a pretty funny interaction. I do not believe that he had any ulterior motives by asking her to play but I do think that staff seem to have a terrible track record with approaching female players for shit like that. It's just not a good look. Needless to say good riddance if he is actually off staff, anyone who uses avatars to pkill people shouldn't ever be in a position of authority over players who want to have fun roleplaying on a mud.

With Halaster, Aromit and Shabago quit, retired or "stepping back" who is guiding this dangerous transition?

That actually doesn't bode well for the game. I'd take Halaster as the last remaining staffer over brokrr any day.

Aromit is the latest example of the Armageddon staff tradition of being able to resign voluntarily after cheating. and creepin. On a scale of one to Blaze I'd put him at a solid 6. Memories of being reached out to over discord, befriended, being polite and friendly, then abruptly he attempts voice/video calls. Legit bullying me about accepting them, but I kept saying no. Was grouchy-ghosted soon after. plus he kept telling me who he played despite knowing I liked the IC wall in place. he won't be missed by some at least. edit: maybe 6 is too generous but look Blaze is a high bar.

I wish the story about Aromit being creepy surprised me. I wasn't aware of it until now, but also, this is the Armageddon staff team we're talking about here.
I don't know that I'd want Halaster over Brokkr. It feels like a Hobson's choice where you just get neglect no matter what. How far back do you have to go through Producers before you land on someone that is legitimately anti-sexual harassment, as opposed to just passive about it or actively enabling it?
