I don't know why Qwerty went from "haha that's not the real Nergal" to suddenly attacking him for past actions. Don't sweat it, Nergal. We cool. No doubt. I'll be around a few more days at least to answer genuine questions from people. |

My experience on Armageddon burned me out on roleplaying MUDs for the most part and I fell back on writing and programming as hobbies to do when I'm by myself. If a new MUD were to open that was roleplay-focused and had an interesting theme, I would at least poke in, but I don't stick around MUDs for more than a couple weeks usually. |

My apologies, Nergal. Your recollection of the mul thing a little bit off from how it happened. Not really relevantly all that much, but enough for me to begin to wonder about the lack of detail. So the ankheg thing, I literally made up on the fly. The other instances are relatively known and discussed on various media's, so if you tried to wing it with the Ankheg issue, I would've been confident you are someone else. But you responded the only way it would be logical to respond, ie "Wtf are you on about?". My apologies for the little test. In the days of fake reviews and people posting accounts while pretending to be someone else, I figured I'd run a little test.

He confirmed that Nergal is Nergal. Although if you really wanted to test it you could have just asked him to make a post from the reddit account associated with Nergal in the past? Or the one on TMC?
EDIT - Basically there were more definitive ways to test your suspicion.

I interacted with Nergal quite a few times. This feels like him, to me. And I can't imagine anyone else bringing up Raleris or Ruke except him. I was playing in Kurac at this time, and I could make a few comments of my own about how hard it felt staff pushed certain plots or didn't, but everything he said checked out. His remarks about Blaze, and a certain percentage of staffers spending all their time spying on mudsex or gaining 'sociopolitical advantage' is dead on. All he missed was the absolute toxic, non-stop trashing of players that goes on immchat. I'm impressed by the courage it took to speak up, and as I read his post, I felt whatever residual bitterness I might have been holding onto towards him, evaporate. So that was nice. Never had any dialogue or anything with you Nergal but you've earned my respect for having the guts to come here and share your thoughts. I don't think you need to apologize to anyone but if you think you do that's all that matters. I think an apology was warranted. And I think most reasonable people are willing to accept it. |

Well I hate to clutter this thread with my opinions but I'd probably tell all of you to fuck yourselves. Probably why I'm not running any online games. Despite all the shit that's been done to me I expect no apologies from anyone. It's an online game, they took advantage of the power they had to fuck me over. Whatever. I could care less about it now and it makes no difference, I had fun either way. An apology doesn't bring back the multitude of PCs I lost to staff avatars. Instead I'd rather they change the system for the better.

I have no hope for Armageddon's future. The only good people involved in staffing it, are the ones that get fired or leave. I could see that someone who was still invested in the current regime somehow moving forward and making a decent game, might be annoyed at past staff coming here and shedding light on its rotten culture. I think at this point, the only way to save Armageddon would be to fire every staffer, and then like, select the new staffers at random. Like they did in Ancient Athens, but with less enforced suicide. |
