New review suggests staff still suck at conflict resolution

There's a problem with trying people online in forums, like this instance in Reddit. Despite qwertoid's rambling attempt at playing defense attorney to the online jury, there's an element of truth in what he says.

You can't start the case, and run away when it comes time to show and prove.

All it does is weaken the case of the next accuser, who can now be lumped into the batch of "all those other (supposed) fakes."

And I look forward to seeing whether Kaitrena decides to record her screen and we'll see what that video is worth. But we should understand that:
1) It's her choice to go up against Armageddon's defenders, who are often utterly fucking rabid, and it's completely reasonable if she doesn't want to deal with that.
2) She's provided more evidence thus far than any other former player who has made similar accusations that made complaints before her, at least as far as I can tell.

But let's be clear: qwerty doesn't care about evidence, he cares about muddying the waters until no proof looks legitimate. Time and time again, he's been among the first to cast doubt on people who put up complaints on Armageddon.

I am part of this community because I can speak unfettered and it's where real discussions occur.

Yeah. I've been thinking about what to say about it. But I think the clingy/cultish aspect of Armageddon's playerbase comes out the most when people have criticisms of the game that they feel are valid, that other Armageddon players can't understand or have lost touch with. Like with WarriorPoet saying "Know why it hurts and breaks your heart? Because the game is great." I get he's going for a kind of hokey, inoffensive optimism and is trying to be supportive, but that's just not how games work.

I think a lot of the veteran Armageddon players forgot people play games to have fun, and it's harder to see that when a game becomes a commitment. Incidentally, it's harder to see what you and your fellow players are doing wrong the longer you've been committed. I guess that also tends to explain the rabid nature of Armageddon's defenders in general though, especially when heavy accusations come out and are backed up by screenshots.

There's also a poster who realizes that player retention is basically nonexistent and the community has become a club of the same people year after year, and they're right. If I have any more observations on that thread I'll probably make a new thread about it, but that's basically it.
