I'm not sure I think the comment to Shaleah needs punitive action against Shalooonsh. It lacks context. She says they had a relationship of some sort. I can be pretty crude with my buddies sometimes too. If you took a screenshot of something I said to my gay friend in Columbia two months ago and just put that up there I'd probably come across as a homophobic monster who ought to be institutionalized. So was the comment before or after their friendship fell apart? Did he know their friendship was falling apart at the time of the comment? Etc. There's a lot of context not there. It lacks context because the context was deleted by Shalooonsh in an attempt to evade punitive action. |

I'll clarify some things on another post but for now these are the things regarding Blaze and the reddit post and why I jumped on it.
1) I have no doubt -something- happened with homegirl and until SHALOOONSH is willing to double scre.... no wait... that won't work, I guarantee you he deleted it.
Three sides to every story so the truth is somewhere between he DID and he DIDN'T.
2) Shalooonsh has upper staff's protection for what he does RIGHT. I'm not going to sit here and demonize anyone, including him. I have heard a lot of things regarding him, there's a thread on him here, no? He's the new Nyr/Bhag/Dyr/insert whatever other staff bad guy there's been. His time will end like everyone else's. People are way more vocal about it now.
3) Those screenshots? They do sound like his first, "professional" approach. Go read how he speaks to noobs in the HELP channel and debate that after.
4) I quit because when a person who is supposedly your friend, who has known you for 15 years, who's been to your house and knows your real self not only gives you every indication that he does NOT in fact know you, bad mouths you to others and projects malice and intent people who don't know you will believe them. He banned me from Discord cause I pissed him off. He deleted that history. Certain players jumped all over him, questioned why I was banned and not the other guy I was debating with. He eventually was banned too, btw (covering their tracks) which was too little too late, I have him on FM telling me why.
We had spoken of his treatment of me via messenger months before by the way and yes, I exported every single conversation with him.
I made a staff complaint. It was dismissed. Per usual. All this led to my quitting the game. I stopped tolerating the bullshit when my "FRIEND" openly became my persecutioner.
There is a reason no one dared question if my shit is real or not on that reddit or here. You reap what you sow. I have always sown truth.

Gotta say, you've never struck me as dishonest, maybe a self-important asshole, but not dishonest. I'd take your side in a bar brawl simply on the basis of the underlying character I perceive. Do you think that this wasn't faked though? I happen to believe the people who say this does not sound like Shaloonsh. Has he fucked up in the past? Obviously he has, the question is this current incident.

I mean, if we just want to dump on Shaloonsh, we can open a new thread exclusively for that. The real issue here has nothing to do with Shaloonsh beyond the alleged role he played in it, and that staff claimed it was all an elaborate hoax to fuck Shaloonsh over. I admit, hoaxes like that sound a bit far-fetched, but shit, we know the lengths people will go to when it comes to this game, this is totally a thing that can happen. Sure, he's a dick and a piece of shit, and that can be gone into detail elsewhere, but the real issue is whether staff just stuck bananas in their ears and said "NAH NAH NAH NAH I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!" which I'm somehow finding hard to swallow. If they covered for him and lied to make it look legit, then they fucked up. I'm of the opinion that no one would risk their reputation like that.

Shaleah, you're like, a living legend when it comes to this game. You've interacted with my PCs, never in a positive manner because I'm an asshole, but I don't fault you for it, every time you fucked over my PCs I was quite rightly humbled for it, and the consequences weren't so simple as a mantis-head, it was always a "You're going to wish you were dead" scenario, and yeah, it opened a lot of doors and taught me a whole lot. You do troll people sometimes, but I don't see that as a bannable offense. People need to get tough.

It is just like Jeshin has said. With the userID system Discord uses, the only way for tamper-proof verification is to screen-share or allow an "independent third party" to log in to your Discord account. Videos could be edited. The discord app itself can be in-line edited. The userID is copied to the clipboard and then pasted to figure out what it is: with enough moxie, you could clipboard spoof by ghost-copying a different UserID in.
So this puts the accusation in a quantum state of proven-yet-unproven, with the logs that the complainant has provided and the matching Looonsh username hash. Unfortunately there will be no way to concisely prove that the event did transpire because of the technical maneuvers described in this thread: the Arm staffers will just claim it is faked. Kaitrena could provide the absolute and fundamental exhaustion of conclusive proof that discord allows in which she shows Looonsh did send those messages, and staff will claim that proof is faked. So clearly there is nothing that will satisfy this so-called "burden of proof". It is unable to be satisfied.
Kaitrena's points are more valid than staff's counterpoints. The lowly reddit complainant has shown more proof as to Looonsh's wrongdoing than staff have shown in merits of defense. With all that said, I'm going to bravely weigh on the side of pattern recognition and decide this does match Looonsh's MO; and it did happen as written. Does that make me a fool? I might simply be weighing in the lateral benefit of Looonsh's banishment: such a thing would be undoubtedly good for the game.

If the logs were faked, then the complainant would have enough Discord knowledge to falsify everything dead to rights. This does not strike me as a malicious actor. It strikes me as genuine. And even in the case where it was some sort of fake staff member account messaging to try and muddy the waters, the real staff screwed up. That part is undoubtedly true.

Seriously, the republican party has become the butt of a long joke, and I feel bad that I'm trying to defend some dude despite his past abuses in Armageddon and saying, let's stay focused on the issue at hand, simply because I like the guy. That's kind of what I think as well. I saw some of your interactions with others, Shaleah. And they were definitely deserving of a timeout. Unfortunate part about Loonsh is that before he bans or moderates for improper behavior, he does the same exact behavior himself first and only then "wins" by administrative action. He is an ass, but an awesome staffer.
Does he allow his beefs affect the gameplay? No. Does he ever bend the game for the negative of another player that he had a shouting match with? Never. Is he more prolific and beneficial to the game then every single whining and talking head on this forum, myself included? Absolutely.
I never denied there are assholes on staff. I laughed hard about Enthemu. He is a good staffer and did a really good job on many aspects of the game. But he barely if ever argues, or defends his points when he's just a player. He barely if ever even participates in GDB. But the moment he hits staff, he goes on a moderating spree of self-righteousness. People are assholes. The best of players that you adored and loved, often turned into complete assholes with staff authority. At least with Loonsh, he is an asshole whether staff, or not. But the important question is whether, or not this affects the game.
Someone keeps talking about whataboutism. And yeah. I genuinely do not care about Loonsh and Shaleah butting heads. Both of them know each other personally. Both of them have personal history with each other. Shaleah can give as hard as she can recieve. Does this affect the enjoyment of my game? No. Will this affect anything inside the game for Shaleah? No. Is it possible to completely neutralize shalooonsh assholeness and still defend your points of view on discord/gdb? Yes. Just keep it classy. Loonsh doesn't do classy, but if you go crass, he'll meet you at that level and he'll have a club on his hand.
Shaleah. Tell me. Do you believe that loonsh would make your gameplay difficult if your character ended up playing in one of his clans?
