Being liked and respected on this board is not very high on my list of priorities  . I would like to think that 'guilt by association' concepts are left behind in high school for most people here. Barring some, a good chunk of people here are, admittedly, above average intelligence. Actually, most of Armageddon playerbase is. Dumb people rarely stick around enough to develop either hatred, or love. There are exceptions of course, but that is the case with everything. In short. Don't you worry, Shaleah. You wont get my cooties if I sit at the same table as you. just stop posting. if your goal is to defend arm or counter negative opinions so view it better, you really should stop posting. you've admitted to being staff and continue to not-so-subtly advertise as still being on staff or at least in close connection with them. what you say is taken as reflecting the views and personalities of staff. what you say just makes arm look really really bad overall. the best you achieve is treading water and making a post that doesn't embarass you, but by and large your posting actively damages arm. you've made it look so bad that at times i've wondered if you're supposed to be a double-secret undercover troll trying to make arm look bad. quite frankly it's embarassing to watch. as far as i can tell the only reason you keep posting here is for one of two reasons: you don't want to look like you 'lost' and just cannot stop, or you're so much drinking the kool-aid that you're willing to be degraded and make a fool out of yourself in hopes you can 'help' things. you're not. i don't think anyone reading your posts would want to play a game that had you as a staff member. so just stop while you can. |

Considering his claims to his staff connections, I think if staff are aware of qwerty's efforts on some level, they would tell him to stop if they felt qwerty's actions were embarrassing. So either the key members on staff who can tell him to stop don't feel embarrassed by his efforts, or they're unaware of those efforts. That being said, qwerty has said that staff are demotivated by what is posted on these forums - so either staff members read these forums, or qwerty updates them on what is written here. This does assume qwerty has the connections he claims to have, which he's tipped his hand on a number of times with the information he's posted. Either way, on some level staff know qwerty's doing this. Even if qwerty doesn't tell staff that he posts here, he has a distinctive writing style that I imagine follows him around. I imagine at least some staff members can put two and two together. My point is that, ultimately, I don't think qwerty is worried that we think he lost. He's worried that the staff who endorse his efforts (of not only posting here, but PMing people with sympathetic-seeming messages just to get a story out of them and connect them to an account name) will think he lost. But he also drank the kool-aid - he thinks he's helping but he's willing to be used by the staff and official community until they decide to discard him and make him an acceptable subject of open mockery on the official community, just like Nyr and Nergal were. |

I've never actually claimed any connections. Nor have I admitted I was staff? Jcarter repeated this a few times and mostly I don't really bother to refute. It also admittedly, serves a purpose.
I mean what's the best way to show a first time reader that this is a den of goblins, then to help goblins show the ugliness of their mugs?
There can be a discussion about the innocence of the unicorns, but because I often disagree with the frequently false claims that folks on these forums display, my participation can switch any topic onto my persona and my supposed connection to staff. It demonstrates that some people of these forums no longer follow logic, or reason, or facts. But just pure hatred and vitriol. And if it helps a single reader to think, "Shit. These guys are unreasonable. The forums are useful for code secrets and stuff, but I shouldn't take all that bullshit they are spouting seriously." Then I'm relatively content. Few people on these forums actually try to argue my points. And when they do, the moment it comes down to factual data, it either unravels at the seams, or ... It is a serious issue worth to be explored. Mostly it's the former.

We hit a "most users online" record several days ago for the first time in years, and we regularly have way more public activity than the GDB does, day after day. ShaLeah's plug of the shadowboard on r/MUD will also probably bring some people around. |

Oddly, there was a percentage of people who actually are trying the game out. With one of them ending up pretty long lived now and very well involved. And they came in after that Reddit post.

I cannot believe that is directly from an IG board post a week old. Talk about conflict with the notion of raising the starting ages to keep it from looking problematic. |
