What changed? You've been a staff apologist for years. Since when? I have _never_ apologized for staff. I have _always_ loved and defended the game against claims that it sucks. Edited to add: There is a huge span between loving the game and condemning it because the staff sucks. My account notes show an 18 year history of how I feel about staffing on Armageddon.
Tbh, my impression is that you were a constant 'Nothing is wrong with Arm, all negative reviews are lies!' shill, and ended up here only because you had a falling out with your staff sugar daddy and by extension, became a pariah in the discord you used to be a very LOUD member of.
Now you're kind of slumming it, with a the 'out' crowd, until you get over your spat and mend fences. I rather suspect, once you do, you'll hop back to your old tricks, and resume your, "I'm a girl tough enough to hang with the boys! Check out how loud and edgy I am!" routine (which isn't even relative anymore... this isn't the 90s), complete with bad mouthing these forums, the people on it, and anyone posting negative reviews based on their experiences, just like before.
Might be wrong? Be nice to be wrong, but I'm doubtful I am.

Gotta say vex, I always thought your opinions on the GDB were garbage but I pretty much agree with everything that you post here. Funny stuff. Well, I think your post on Jal is a little naive, but regardless... (In theory, minor houses like Jal would have more potential to shake things up and affect 'change' within their own sphere. Will that actually happen? I hope so. Probably not. It's kind of hard to genuinely hope that something like House Jal opening up will 'work out' when the entire dynamic of the game (particularly the game design) is so old, stagnant and underwhelming. It's like... to what end? Oh well. Have fun with your sewer RPTs n' shiet.)

I actually really like the inclusion of Jal for reasons similar to what Vex has stated. I think it has the potential for players to make something fun out of the House. It being the lowest ranking house means they have nowhere to go but up, and they almost certainly do something besides tinker with the sewers so players might get a chance to define what else Jals get up to.

Jal gets the City Ministry contracts, right? Building! This could be very interesting if the staff gives Jal a fair deal of support.

There might be reasons why Jal is being opened. Some very world changing reasons.

Yup. Uh huh. Keep shitting on it. And then complain that nothing happens. Or when something does happen, quickly forget about it, so you can complain that nothing happens next month.

idk how stating facts is shitting on anything. i said nothing negative, beyond staff's own probable boredom leading to it finally being finished.

I will at least say this and this may be a personal thing.
Content doesn't have to be epic.
If a PCs day to day life is grounded in realism and a certain tier of influence then adding content which is miles above their normal influence comes off as gimmicky and especially if it's restricted content it comes off as favoritism. So if I was going to do a world changing thing with sewers and a House of civil engineers I might do something like oh the sewers are really a barrier between catacombs of old Allanak and the new Allanak on top of it and those catacombs are now open and now explorers and treasure hunters are pillaging them and it's a race between House Jal the officially licensed explorers and the indies/other clans trying to map it and get ze lewts.
That's fun, down to earth, creates competition, doesn't lock it to Jal but gives them primacy as it's their gimmick and it's everyone versus them unless you ally with them. Etc etc blah blah blah.

^ Jeshin has a point.
Armageddon is more of a 'muh slice-of-life in the desert with skinny elf boys' simulator than anything, nowadays.

That's a whollllllle lot of assumption there, vex. You're right in that I don't think anything is wrong with Arm but maybe you should go back and re-read my opinions, particularly my #bringback posts in the discord where I was way louder than I am on the GDB simply by default because it's not only live action roleplay but I was there every day. I'm not "in a spat." I don't have fences to mend and I am 100% still just as loud, as vexed at staff as I have been for 19 years and still very opinionated on what they have done right, what they have done wrong. I am still of the same opinion that a lot of people's problem with "Arm" is that they're just not cut out to play in the theme which is something I am unpopular for. I couldn't care two shits what staff thinks of me, hence my not hiding behind a pussy mask of a fake name. The ONLY thing that has changed is that the ooc staff shit has finally taken away my enjoyment of the game. That's it. Some people think Arm is fucked up. I think staff is fucked up. Silence is complicity. We're fighting the same war, we just have different targets. Here's a little example of the love I've gotten as a player from my "staff sugar daddy" to warrant my supposed "shill" - (after having 3 karma already) Set karma to 2, Good roleplayer, bad player overall. Disruptive to clans, doesn't care much about anything but herself. No Muark. Thanks. Complaint received about her sharing OOC information. I've really liked her and think she RPs great. But her attitude toward staff gets worse and worse. I blame IRCUses NPCs like the one in the vivadu temple to figure out people's guilds OOC. Despite the caliber of her emoting, this is a very difficult and thankless player to work with. I strongly advise not giving her special roles. Continually misuses hemote with giggles, chuckles, nods, etc. There's a wealth of information in those notes. Pay attention to what I bolded. This problem has not gone away. I have felt the same exact way for 18 years, heh. Staff isn't the game. I still maintain that there's nothing wrong with the game itself. It's interesting to me that people see me as a pro-Arm-brainwashed-heretic in spite of my very vocal disagreement with lots of things. People see what they want to see, I guess.

The reasons Jal is being opened is because Staff is trying some new world changes which will fuck up the world even more so we lose more players. FTFY

This isn't a really good change. There are better things that should have been worked on. To quote Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, "I know it when I see it."

Well, I think your post on Jal is a little naive, but regardless...
I'm under no pretense, that there is a high probability, of this going nowhere.
Experience and history both indicates it, even... but the potential is there, and I do hope it goes somewhere and gets all due support. Moreover, I REALLY hope that the first couple of nobles they choose, are experienced and dependable. Not just for 'can live a long time and tolerate lots of boring idle time', because we've what that amounts to with the merchant Houses for the last how many years, and it isn't good. Rather, people who are able and willing to delegate, entrust plot points to employees and involve others in plots beyond clan_flag, without obsessive micromanagement.
Valeria is rather good at this, as an example of what I mean. Someone willing to play their role through ups AND downs, involve others consistently, an indulge a broader range of interactions, without it being non-stop, "I'm a noble, fuck you forever", like it has been with so many shitty nobles, in recent times. I've never understood this method of depicting a noble (or Templar), because it causes people to avoid them like plagues, and makes gathering employees and confidants... troublesome, to say the least. Good luck plotting, without having people rooting for your cause.
Hoping for the best, but bracing for more of the same, I suppose.
