Ok, ok, Bitter, there was, maybe is, a city elf named Drazen who is absolutely, amazing ballsy and vile, and doesn't do it in a grim-dark street cred sort of way, but drags you into their story. The character, and the player, are both amazing as fuck. I can't think of anyone else who could balance "fun" with "Fuck you." as well as he had/has. He's not the kind of guy that grins wickedly as your PC gets murdered.

I mean, you can blatantly tell the character is grim and dark as shit, but you can almost feel that the player on the other end feels you and wants to include you in a story, an amazing story that will likely kill the fuck out of you, but still, hands down, Drazen is/was the witch's tits when it comes to playing. Human? Elf? No one was safe from RPing with this motherfucker, unless they were a breed. I can't believe I forgot about Drazen, I would, without a doubt, vote that wicked fucking fence as the best c-elf ever played.
EDIT: Anyone that's snuck up on him while he's RPing with his stolen babies would know. Drazen was a goddamn force of nature, beastly RPer, who, you just KNOW, wants you to have fun, no matter who you are. Yes, no shit, he was stealing babies and raising them, and would sometimes complain about them shitting on his stock. He would bring vNPCs to life like no one else I've ever met.

Drazen was/is amazing. Best sleazy city elf I ever had the pleasure of coming across. That man made some plots and it was fun to be part of them.

This thread started out cool, and then it became about Pearl.
Back on topic: The best ranger I ever interacted with, both RP wise and ridiculous skill wise, was Slinks of the Red Fangs. That guy was a monster. I have never seen someone so thoroughly dominate the game while staying relatively under the radar. He had everything between Allanak and Tuluk locked down. Even sorcs were kissing his ass.
His downfall, the way I heard it, was that he got lead on by staff thinking he was going to learn sorcery, and then the NPC betrayed him. I might be missing a few details. It's been a while. But for like a RL year, Slinks was the god of the wasteland. I branched weapons on my decently (not great, but it was barely good enough to not suicide) Red Fang warrior, and Slinks could still eat him for breakfast in the circle. I also played a rukkian Red Fang (and maxed him out) during that period. So I got to see him in action close up quite a bit.
As I heard about it later, he didn't even reach his apogee until quite a while after my last RF died, and he'd been playing Slinks for quite a while before I made my first one.

I had a lot of fun playing with Malrith. My PC exploded like 6 months ago so I attempted to store my character, but they asked to give it time. I'd love to come back eventually, but I don't have a PC to play from with any sort of regularity. I played a tailor that went by Blue. For sure, you're not coming back now.

RIP Blue. For all the crap I sent Blue's way, he was fun to work with. Sorry about the burn-out, fella, but a whole bunch of folks have felt that. Here's hoping we can set up the alternative and get some steam going for competition in the desert RPI circuit.

Blue was a goddamn blast to play with. I'll never forget the introduction, where the ominous and mysterious rinthi walks in out of nowhere, pulls out a stool next to me, and says, quietly, "So, you're Malrith... you were Jade Spider's favorite whore? He and I were friends. I did my best to protect him and look out for him, and I'll do the same for you. And in case you were wondering... the one who caused his death, died on a stool not far from where we're sitting right now."

For sure, you're not coming back now. Yeah, I wouldn't be coming back to that character. It's been six months and I don't even know what I'd be doing trying to run a clan or assimilate back into what's going on (if anything). Chances are I just won't be coming back to the game at all. The amount of time it takes me to get into it isn't a commitment I'm willing to make. Fun game, can be exciting and interesting when you set your expectations low like I've always done, but just takes more time than what I'd be willing to give once I get a pc to game from. I will say the Guild was the most interesting place I've ever played. Playing a character with a horrendous disadvantage in combat in such an area was a lot of fun, as well. Essentially have no combat viability and having to rely on other characters to protect my own made for an interesting change of pace over a character I'd normally make that can deal with people on their own.
I enjoyed interacting with Blue as Htaniya Fale.

Also OOC I suspect Jade Spider was actually murdered by the Guild because he was forced to give info on Black to Lastal, because one of Lastal's whiran friends had been robbed and taunted by Black, of spell components, expensive, hard to replace ones... and when Black got dropped somewhere by a whiran, revenge was inevitable. Then Scowler (god that guy was awesome) straight up pushed Lastal's shit in in the middle of the Gaj, in front of everyone. But that's from what I understand over multiple characters, something Malrith would have had no clue about.

They tried to have Scowler offed, too, but, he miraculously escaped from the militia. Then the east side elves, because this small crew's leader was partially responsible for Scowler's escape, ended up in a personal street war against Scowler, in order to "make it right" with the militia. Scowler proceeded to kick ass all over the rinth. Those elves were badass, Scowler was badass. It was a scary time to be an elf in the rinth. This was before Jade Spider's death, so I'd gone out there in the hopes of meeting him that day and, Scowler was in the Mantis, interrogated me about who I was, and what I was there for, at spear-point. Then said one of his creepy poems and stomped out.

Best Assassin? IMO, hands down, was Fang, the pale-skinned elf who was a Jaxa Pah outcast. He lived FOREVER. He didn't log in much but if he noticed activity picking up on the east side he'd start logging in like crazy. I don't know how he coped with the sheer, mind-numbing boredom of it being empty most times. He was Miydao's best friend in the whole known after his best friend was assassinated. This guy would find you if you were an elf, hand-hold you through all of east side, introduce you to every NPC by name (yes, he knew most of their names and affiliations), and walk you through the rules, and about keeping the peace. He had bad grammer and poor capitalization, but he was a very real presence, as anyone who ended up on his bad side, or good side, would attest to.
Fang had a storied history. When ratsucker was killing people, the militia was hunting Fang because they thought he did it. People straight up thought this dude was a vampire. I never saw him drink blood or avoid daylight. Miydao and Fang used to stalk the alleys, and just, look for tracks, hunting humans to find out what they were up to. We usually didn't find anything, but then Fang would make it worthwhile by locating NPCs, like twitchy or toothless, or the Hathor's gang, and somehow making them part of the story, without power-emoting. Then we'd murder the shit out of them.
One time, a Guild mul named Shanks had killed an elven NPC that attacked him, and had a human with him, and they were stringing the elf up from the Hathor's statue, but they didn't realize Fang was hiding in the shadows. He screamed in rage and backstabbed Shanks. Human shat, his, pants, and ran. Shanks and Fang's ancient ass went toe to toe for a while, before Fang finally fled. Shanks runs too, finds Miydao's mind...
"What the FUCK /was/ that thing?!" "What thing?" *recited events* "Oh damn... that was Fang, he's a really bad elf who you'd rather be on the good side of." "I can tell. Can we all meet up and explain this misunderstanding? I don't like the idea of that crazy elf hunting me." "Sure, let me talk to Fang about it."
And a meeting was arranged, we got shit straightened out. Fang didn't know that the elf had jumped Shanks, just that Shanks was stringing up an east-sider. Once it was all worked out, it was good.
EDIT: One time Miydao straight up ripped through the corner crew of assassin NPCs after the death of his human servant, who another elf had unwisely ordered to kill one of the NPCs, so, she attacked one and the rest jumped out of the shadows and butchered her. Doesn't seem like much of a loss but Miydao had lost so much, and this was another straw on the camel's back. He went insane with rage and murdered them all. He confessed to Fang that he killed some Jaxa Pah, and told Fang that if he needed Miydao's ears to get in good with them, it was okay and understood. Fang was like, "fuk blood. wat the fuck? i'm not going to take your ears but you might want to stay clear of east side a while." Fang wanted back in the Jaxa Pah, they'd been betrayed by an elf he'd taken in, and they'd demanded her ears. No shit, one time when I was with him staff animated Krosh, the bartender in the basement, who Fang used to always report activity on the east side to, even though he almost never responded, and Krosh was condescending and mean, and finally said, "You want back in. We want those ears. Yes, she went missing a long time ago, but these are our terms."
