I just think it's really interesting how you can play the same game and have a completely different experience. Some people get some nice things going, some people get shit on and most people get treated indifferently. That's really what interests me the most about this game, it's weirdly inconsistent.
Nothing really to add here, except yeah I do remember reading fire arrows burned off the poison.

In retrospect, it's been pointed out to me by a few well-intentioned players that I was out of line, and should compose an apology. Unsure, but the flaming poisoned arrows may have been an honest mistake, I shouldn't start with the assumption it was deliberate. I intend to spend the evening deleting my recent posts.

I mean Nyr turned me off of the game back when I was wanting to put a shit ton of time into it, just haven't found my way back since (a few characters that weren't invested in much), but who didn't have a negative experience with Nyr at some point. Sucks Grumble. I don't have much else to say man. My experiences with players IG has always been pretty good at least. I guess there has been some questionable MOB puppeteering by staff - I think I mentioned somewhere before that all my PC deaths are from MOBs. I killed you, why are you hunting me down and shutting the door to PK me... and how did I lose to you now when I've killed you multiple times before? Maybe you just happened to get better rolls when a staff member decides to possess you to kill me? I know where you spawn 'cuz I farm you. How the fuck did this NPC even know I'm here? Mekillot killing me west of Allanak (don't remember exactly where, it was a really long time ago, but he was an obsidian miner with incredible strength - the one time I got that roll), and several other things like that. I think it was unofficial punishment for suspected multiplaying or meet ups, and I did do the latter from time to time with a single individual (never kept it secret, quite the opposite), but who knows. |

Seems poison is supposed to be removed from arrows when they are lit on fire, as per the release notes.
Were the arrows in question "burning" or were they "sparking" arrows?

the release notes that revolved around poison burning off were not implemented until today - they were 'pushed back' because of bugs/issues.
i assumed that was only the pour syntax being added/upgraded, but apparently the fire-poison interaction as well.

Know what's funny? I've been thinking about this for a couple of characters now and I think it all comes down to those invisible staff notes. It's like a little slap on the nose when they do things like that to you. I think the indifference is worse because you're never quite sure why they're being indifferent, because depending on who you are it effects your interaction. I always have a little inner chuckle when someone busts up in here with "(insert your favorite GDB star here) was awesome they really knew how to get shit done, they may not have been a great role player but...blah, blah, blah fellatio...." Never realizing their level of staff interaction was/is much higher than the average player. People can agree or disagree, but I know that's a fact, and most players just won't get that kind of exchange. I know what it's like to have a staffer in your corner and I know what it's like to have a staffer that doesn't give a shit about you. Totally different exchange there. It's just so interesting the pathology of this game. Half of me wants to just say fuck this game and never come back and the other half is just fascinated by the types of people that play and staff this game. You have people that get banned and they're like "you can play but don't ask for shit" or "you can play but...." And I wonder, how many people they say that about and never even bother to tell them? |

Or you could try make a new account, and immediately make a request from that account stating your intentions, an apology or whatever, and see if they'll unscramble your password on your original account. |

Because staff are logical and treat everyone fairly, I'm wondering what the protocol the staff use to determine when to change the email on a player's account and scramble their password so they are effectively locked out of the game. I know they've got to have one because they are rational individuals who aren't out to get anyone.

Staff is getting better Jenki... I've seen it myself. I just, urk, lost my shit because seriously WTF, and what I /should/ have done, is done what I did with a previous character, wait a week, get into a new role, and then finally submit a request asking if maybe any light could be shed on the issue. I have to admit I was the unreasonable one there. Truth be told the RPT was an experience and I'm sure it'll reinforce some aspect of the gameworld, like, maybe, never go into the Pah, let them have their waterslides and unicorns. My understanding was never go in the goddamn Pah ever, even to Blackwing, for more than a second, which is why when I heard of the terms, I spent three RL days going, wtf? Is this for real?
