Just a thought, could this 'Game' have been put up as a way to trap Shadow Board people into revealing their ip addresses so they can get banned from the game? There are much easier ways of doing this. For example, someone could embed an image into a post which tracks IPs that fetch it (the image is hosted elsewhere, just referenced in the post).

It's just strange that he deleted everything. I'll agree with that. Even if he didn't want to be responsible for hosting it in any form, I'm surprised he didn't share it in some way so that others could.

Despite the ethical complications of IP ownership, etc, a new game world based on the old arm code would be an interesting thing to see.

Someone could file a civil suit and take them to court saying it's stolen code, but they'd have difficulty proving damages since it's a free game (and I'm no lawyer so I have no idea). In the scenario I'm suggesting, it'd be a completely different game world so there'd be no intellectual property involved other ARMs code. It'd be like Arm Reborn except instead of a whole mud engine to go with the new world, it'd just be a new world built on the old code.
I'm not suggesting someone use Arms code without permission. I am suggesting that a whole new and different game world, built on the same code, would be interesting to see.

I feel like Armageddon would have to be careful about throwing out law suits over intellectual theft since, ya know, Dark Sun...
