Threats From Armageddon Staff (Nyr) And Misc. Awful

I'll give you a specific example: There are great class divides in Arm, with literacy only present among the upper caste and rogue abominations called sorcerers. Upper caste characters are available only through staff role calls. One small village called Red Storm is a refuge for escaped slaves, outcasts, bandits, rogue witches, and people who want to go unnoticed. A character learned literacy from a sorcerer with the intention of creating an underground pseudo-nobility in Red Storm. Her IC reason, from what I recall, is that she grew up an orphan and wanted the same tight-knit familial bond that Nobles seemed to have.

Now, from my perspective, this is a great plot because it introduces meaningful conflict. It gives Nobles a real IC threat to their legitimacy. We could have assassinations, bounties on texts, inter-noble espionage blamed on the pseudo-noble house, noble minions creating a covert inquisition against the pseudo-nobility, nobles from a rival city supporting the pseudo-nobles to undermine their foes in a sort of proxy war, etc.

None of that happened. When she put in her character report, Staff said that she was attempting an unauthorized plot and they would force store (ie, delete) her character if she didn't stop.
