Threats From Armageddon Staff (Nyr) And Misc. Awful

... Wow. I've seen a lot of emails, but that ooc block on even acquiring an ic position ic is the kind of shit I've never seen. The only thing about it that kinda softens the blow is that it's not mocking or needlessly insulting.

Arm is Nyr's outlet for his bullying personality. It's beyond obvious by now. He's just there to treat people like shit because it makes him feel better about himself. The fact that he has been ruining the flagship title of an entire genre of games in the process is completely irrelevant to him. I mean... "we will ban you and your wife"? There isn't even a pretense of doing what's necessary, it's pure malice and bullying. The internet is his playground and he has manipulated himself into an unopposable position of authority solely for the purpose of making other people feel bad. I wonder what kind of deep, traumatic emotional issues he's struggling with to have that kind of need.

RRR is right, he's been up and down and up again.  He's filled in and demoted a few times.  Look it up elsewhere.

They did the same thing to Clegane, but then they relented, allowing him to play both Vedelarin Borsail and Fatty Tor.

Now, imagine if the ban on him playing leadership characters had stuck. Know how Nyr and others are always on the Atrium's dick? Well, the Atrium wouldn't have happened if his initial ban from playing leaders had not been revoked. There is a strong moral to that story, somewhere.

This absolutely needs emphasizing. A perfect illustration of the kind of paranoia that exists at staff level, and the complete lack of professionalism that follows. This one was quite a jaw dropper for me. Thanks for sharing it.

Aside from only one incident on my wife's part, where she did something silly because of sleep depravation and pain pills, she had, at the time, zero incidents of harassing the staff, causing mischief or trolling them.  She had, to that point, just played solid characters who fit their niche.  She had ONE incident and Nyr instantly sent her an email about karma review and docked 5 points off of her.  No warning, just -wham-.  This was all about three weeks after the email I got that I posted, from him.

OOC note:  She had just gotten out of a two month stay in the hospital for a broken back and trying to learn how to do everything without mobility.  When she pointed out to him that she was trying to find a way to play to escape and got a bit zoned out because of her meds, his reply was basically "That is not our problem, you were not thinking to guide your actions and what you did was against our rp standards."  Then he reviewed her and docked her.

What did she do?  You ask....her burglar stole a couple bags of loot and I think dragged a couch out of a building without thinking.  She knew it was silly, to this day she laughs about how dumb that was, but a 5 point hit?  Whatever.

From that point forward she stopped writing to the staff for account reports (I take that back, she did like 2) and requests.

It's been pretty obvious to me, for years, that she's been "punished" because of my reputation, because yeah, I did have a habit of mailing my clan staff trying to get questions answered, tried to get them to let me have the resources to be successful, tried to hire in minions and tried to make plots happen for people, and I wanted my staff to be proactive.  OH THE WORKLOAD!

Whatever.

Anytime I've applied for a leader role since I got that previous email from Nessalin (in 2008, mind you) I've been referred to my account notes and previous discussion with staff about my ability to play those roles.  And yes, since you're curious, my characters have indeed been IC'ly punished for trying to attain roles where they would be in charge of as much as a dung sweeper.  Like my apprentice bard who had a Master Bard -AND- a Tenneshi senior noble trying to discredit and destroy me.  I'm not kidding, zero kid gloves, it was full on social war.  That was a good time too.

So much stupid.
