grumble, just because @kronibas is taking some crazy time to himself doesn't mean you can triple-post without paying him royalties. ... are... are you a paid volunteer... or the other kind? Paid only in grumble's tears, being the heartless dick that I am, I think. Or so I am beginning to believe. I mostly asked because "unpaid volunteers" is a running joke here about what Arm's staff yell down at us when they're up on the cross. I've been impressed with how you and alaire have been handling the criticism, so I was making the joke ironically in your case. (Also I liked the "paid in tears" thing.)

Bitter, good man, they have been yelling about being "unpaid volunteers" since I was on staff, in some form. It only became more of a meme and joke because they made it into a tagline. I know exactly where you're coming from. "Armageddon is not a religion..." is another favorite of mine. But as for the rest, believe me, it's not easy coming into what could be hostile territory to try and defend a project that, out the gate, everyone will call inferior to the standard they are used to. It has always been an uphill battle to try and gain and preserve playerbase from a group who will largely and singularly view it as a backup mud. That causes a lack of consistency in player logins, a lack of good leaders and honestly, a lack of schemers and manipulators. Not saying we don't have ANY, but we could certainly use more. Oh, Christ, that almost sounded like a recruiting pitch, Malkin's panties are twisting somewhere I just know it. |
