for a guy who was laughing at people for being mean about adhira and expecting her to post here, it seems like you're trying your best to trash talk other MUD admins and drive them off. as long as they cant touch his karma its ok   |

I think Jeshin's new forum is a much better venue for Arm's staff to post in and I have some hope that they just might. |

I think Jeshin's new forum is a much better venue for Arm's staff to post in and I have some hope that they just might. wait so let me get this straight. they talked about their negative experiences they had as players on Arm, some of it backed up with e-mail evidence when people didn't believe it, and posted in a recruitment thread players here started about their MUD answering criticisms, and you feel the need to run them off and talk trash about their mud (have you even played it) because how dare they talk bad about your favorite video game staff? holy fucking lol |

As per the reference to my forum. The EoE staff has accounts and a subforum and are contributors to the weekly article section. We hope that Armageddon will commit to an article when they are less busy with restructuring their staff side operation and we further hope that they engage on our forum but they haven't as of yet.
So I'll at least give kudos to EoE staff for engaging with a new community site as well as coming to this forum which is the wild west of MUD feedback.

I was an apologizing for Armageddon's methods for YEARS in trying to help build it up in the community. 2. I "shit all over Arm" by posting with citations, rather than knee jerking with bland, vague statements with no support, like you with Esos. 3. I've made zero attempts to recruit people to Esos in my time here. You're more than welcome to become hyperbolic in defense of a small game in a very large internet, I'm certain that people enjoy the vigor to which you will pander. But if we're being entirely honest, my stating my opinion and experience is only that...MY opinion and experience. It's not going to change anything on Armageddon nor is it going to change how they staff their mud. And that's fine, I don't care at all. It does not matter. |

Let me be clear, because there seems to be some confusion about my -actual- opinion.
Armageddon is amazing. The code is lovely, the writing is wonderful, and the players (for the most part) are really inventive and because of that their characters are thought provoking. They have amazing documentation! They, in 1998, had some of the smartest people I'd ever met on their staff, and they made it fun.
I think Nyr handles things poorly. He handled things with me so poorly that I didn't want to play where he was in charge. Now, having heard that someone told him they were going to piss in his face, and apparently threatened his life, I can't fathom for the life of me, why I was ever in any trouble at all.
Also, I just wanted to point out to the one who said that I deserved my pc's death: I said that I wish I hadn't done that. I said it was a mistake. You might have missed it because it was in another post rather than the one that I started with the "worst things I ever did" on Armageddon. I agree! I should have just played through it. Honestly though, no one likes to be laughed at when it comes to the death of a beloved character and I felt that it was insensitive. But the point of my saying that wasn't to villify Nyr. It was pointing out something I did wrong. I do that sometimes, I'm human. And I admit it when I know that I've screwed up, and I did.
So... thanks for all of the feedback, it's always useful!
