jcarterA lot of the community self-refers to these forums as the shadow boards. You can look to the users like Jeshin, sirra, topkek, etc. It's a running joke as far as I'm aware but some people have come to use it seriously. And I will take back the 'for the most part' because you're right. This forum has a great collection of code discussions and threads for past characters and logs. Even game suggestion discussions. I think that's where this forum shines. @kronibas Nope, you play good characters which is really all that matters. Delete your forum account and give the game another try.

I never said you labelled them the shadow forums. I'm not saying that the arguements are on here are invalid, either. I agree, the discussions on here don't interfere with the game. But for the most part they're hissy fits. The real problem is the state of the game and the inability of the current staff. A lot of points on here address that. But a lot of the points on here are also trivial. Let's not act like the GDB is the only place with obsessive internet warriors. Shooting the shit is shooting the shit but it's obvious a number of guys on the GDB and here are rocking back and forth in diapers over how hurt their feelings are. then who are you saying labeled it the shadow forums because, like I said, it was to my knowledge done by the GDB community and in your post it sounds like you're ascribing it to us as some sort of evidence of the immaturity of the forums. edit: also, I really disagree that 'for the most part' the discussions here are hissy fits. i'm not going to quibble on the definition of 'hissy fit' but by and large it's just people discussing the game, the code, and past characters. I think the shadowboard sounds cool. |

Impossible to enforce! I couldn't resist returning to the game after half of Nyr's adult life was lost in the closing of tuluk.  |

How long ago was that, julio? Still banned and not welcome? That was this month. That was a copy and paste from my cell phone. (Even my cell phone IP is banned!) As for my emails and stuff I'd like to remain somewhat anonymous. |

I'd be interested to see what you said against Nyr and the emails when they banned you. From what I have seen, he has a temper, just like a lot of people, so I imagine he got sorta ugly at times during correspondence. And when people act like assholes to those who fly off the handle, then well, you can't really blame folks for flying off the handle too much. There is a lot to be said for being polite, and when you are rude to players and they are rude in turn, who can you really fucking blame? |
