He probably gets linked to stuff that is deemed "staff contract breaking". Anyway, I'm not Nyr's PR rep. I'd be pretty pissed if I was sent that e-mail. every e-mail i've been shown that's involved staff cracking down on those players, former staff and non-staff alike, for talking about a video game on the internet has been from nyr. whether he regularly peruses the latest rants of us pathetic internet losers about the cool guys on the GDB and their 100 day old elf wizards or just reads what he's linked to, it's still reading boards that he says he totally doesn't read. |

It's not free from bullying (it's on the internet fuckhead so good luck with that). The game is presented as OOCly fair, and it should be. Shit may not be fair in the game, but it should be OOCly. Mostly, it is. If the staff want to come out and say that it isn't fair from an OOC perspective, then they will sorta contradict the point of what they're trying to do. Also, I think it is funny when some hostile little shit tries to act like a tough guy on the Internet, which is probably the only place you can ever get away with saying things like that to people, isn't it? |

But since this whole conversation is based on people on the internet being mean to you, I'm not too concerned. You can try to reduce it to that, but it's really about a game that all of us play - and the fact that there are currently problems with the game that are result of just a few people. We have been discussing these few people and pointing out how they have fucked up - and the extent to which they have fucked up. So, you can either recognize that or maybe go fuck yourself instead? |

I am not praying for Nyr to be nailed to a cross or even be removed from staff. I think he has contributed a lot of his life to ArmageddonMUD, and that's something I can recognize and respect.
But when someone is fucking up, they should not be able to hide behind the authority that allows them to help the game. Instead, they should be somewhat accountable for their actions.

Big dreams, I know Because creating an independent forum, labeling it the 'shadow forums' and throwing hissy fits over douchebags that ruined your online text game experience is acting like an adult. @kronibas I don't see how having internet friends affects your or my opinion that psionisicists are or are not too dependent on staff interaction, but I'd rather not derail onto something that wasn't even significant to my point as a whole. what part of creating an independent forum to discuss things and shoot the shit with other people over niche video games do you find immature? second, i never labeled it the 'shadow forums'. people on the GDB did, i think maybe it was a Euronymous post that did so. i laughed about it, and still do, whenever people refer to it like that because i think it's melodramatic. third, who's throwing hissy fits? kronibas is overly wordy and arguably hyperbolic sure, but people are taking their complaints away and addressing them in an appropriate space. in no way whatsoever does this effect Armageddon MUD nor interfere with it's operation. it's not put on their official boards, nor even attempted to. i could see if people were spamming links on the GDB or organizing attempts or something as being hissy fits, sure, but to my knowledge that has yet to happen. more often than not it's people from the GDB coming over here because they feel the internet honor of their video game is being impugned and having meltdowns. if people hate these forums and what they stand for, hey right on. i mean there's no shortage of gdb warriors who's video game playtime can be measured in months crying about how we're obsessive weirdos for talking about their favorite video game on the internet, and they're free to do that. but let's not pretend like this is some kind of disruptive environment filled with people trying to ruin internet experiences for roleplayers. |

I never said you labelled them the shadow forums. I'm not saying that the arguements are on here are invalid, either. I agree, the discussions on here don't interfere with the game. But for the most part they're hissy fits. The real problem is the state of the game and the inability of the current staff. A lot of points on here address that. But a lot of the points on here are also trivial. Let's not act like the GDB is the only place with obsessive internet warriors. Shooting the shit is shooting the shit but it's obvious a number of guys on the GDB and here are rocking back and forth in diapers over how hurt their feelings are. |
