If the code rewards stupid, OOCly driven behavior, that is what you'll get. End of discussion.

I agree with you about raising the skill, and this isn't the only instance of the grind being both unrealistic and not fun... but I'm of the mind that you're lucky when you die in a RPT. I guess I don't feel like the game has any obligation to not fuck my character up. Then again I survived every HRPT and major RPT I've ever been a part of, so maybe I'd be more bitter if I had just died half-way through them and not gotten to participate through it all. None of those character that survived were very strong, either. Just lucky. Reminds me of one of my favorite HRPT's, the Gith Wars, watching the Lady Templar who was in charge of us magickers get one-shot by a Gith arrow to the face. I never get to die cool ways like that.

RGS if you wish up during an RPT or HRPT or at any time and ask staff to kill you in a cool way they will do so. They have stated multiple times on the forums that wishing up to suicide or die via NPC or die in an IC manner in an IC situation is permitted and that they tend to help players with such things...

That's really not the same. I've wished up for death a lot of times. Gotten heart-attacks, strokes, and had construction collapse on me, had territorial creatures come after me... It's not nearly as satisfying. The major reason I feel that way about RPT's is lots all of my characters who I've stored, had chances for awesome deaths in RPTs, but narrowly missed them, survived, and become boring.

Lol, well sorry about saving your dude during the Byn Murder RPT... It seems like you are Lieutenant Dan and I am Forrest Gump.

I must know the answer to this... We're talking about rangers however, so you should use master archery and kill with amusing degrees of impunity. The basic sling is 'rinth safe and can be loaded with some very unusual ammunition types... especially if you're able to befriend certain elemental guilds. What Ammunition types! PM me if you need. Something. This I never heard of!

The only thing I can think of is -maybe- Krathi fire seeds?
I really have no clue, lol.
That's the only thing that looks remotely sling-worthy in the elementalist spell lists.

1. ranger/slipknife 2. warrior/outdoorsman Warrior slipknife Ranger/Rouge ? Thoughts? Yours is a much better combination, I think. Mainly becuase non-max backstab is useless for a ranger, especially becuase of archery. And The skills you get need outdoorsman on a warrior you can just get from one of the many subguilds with ride/directionsense. Also sneaking/hiding in a city is much more useful for a warrior. Sneaking outside will rarely ever happen for a warrior. Hell it rarely happens or is useful for anything but a D-elf.

I would only go warrior/outdoorsman on a desert elf. Because the most important wilderness survival ability is still no-hands ride. If warrior/outdoorsman doesn't give that to you, then the rest hardly matters. Delves get around that. But even so you're doubling up on stealth. Outdoorsman is a weird subguild. All the same, scan, tracking and good archery is highly valuable on a delf.
If half-elves had the racial ability to get to no-hands ride (as they should), they'd be a good race for warrior/outdoorsman concepts, but they don't.
Rogue is a great choice to pair with ranger, for a city concept.
A warrior/grebber could work well, if the grebber riding skill gets high enough for no-hands ride with riding gloves. I honestly have no clue if it does, but would be surprised if it didn't, since several normal subguilds can manage it.
Ultimately, the best warrior concepts might be something like Master Weaponsmith, Master Armorsmith, or Apothecary, and just embracing your riding gimpness while contributing to a clan or unit. A more solo-oriented outdoors char should have no-hands ride, though.

If you wanna be a basic bitch with no style or class, sure?
Just throw arrows too, while you're at it.

Breeds are able to get their ride to no-hands level, but for that they need to have high agility. Like Extremely good and higher if I recall correctly. I think the max a racial ability can go up to is above 70, but below 80.
I always thought of fire seed as a grenade, which ... you throw. Using a sling is a lot of effort, unless you're creating ammo for someone else. In which case it's very veeeeerrry cool.
