FYI, Calavera is a Legend now. I thought she came back. She quit again? Fuck. Wouldn't say "quit", morelike had no free time for it. She's working too much.

Maybe the answer is that the purpose of the desert elves is, as you suggest in a few places, to be the "real" representation of a harsh, water-poor, tribal story environment. Of COURSE they should be. Them and tribal humans are what kept me playing Arm for so long. Should desert elves be blocking access to water pools and water forage areas, or making those areas risky? Of course they should be doing this, and I openly challenge any staff with the necessary intestinal fortitude to come debate me on the subject. I'm highly confident they will lose. What purpose do you see desert elves serving in this game? Completely separated from the city-states; that's a whole other beast entirely. Their "purpose" is to engage in tribal role play and bring the desert to life. That, dear sir, is a more focused purpose than: 1) Joining GMH house 'x' and spam crafting for hours a day 2) Rolling an indie hunter and killing everything in the wastes to notch your offense/defense/hidden skills 3) Rolling a soldier/guard/rinthi and then proceeding to just do fuck-all and tavern sit hoping for someone to talk to Their disjointed, unfocused purpose pales in comparison to the beauty that is tribal role play. In tribes you have a dedicated family. You may not even LIKE your some of your family members -- good, start shit with them, have family issues that play out or come together and reconcile in the face of a foreign threat. My point is, tribes ARE ArmageddonMUD. They represent all that the mud SHOULD be: Murder, corruption, betrayal. A) They're murderous because they wouldn't hesitate to ghost an outsider threatening their kin B) They're corrupt because they're always looking/working for an angle, i.e. a way to extort, bribe, threaten YOU for something in return C) They're apt to betrayal because THEY'RE FUCKING ELVES

Yeah, one of my favorites for sure. I missed Tzu when he retired, too -- but then Calavera came around. I think there's a good chance of getting a few good STs. IMO, STs are more likely to be awesome because they haven't been jaded yet.

RE: Shalooonsh.
Definitely one of my top favorites in terms of contemporary staff members.
When I unstored Sharlo and started playing under him in Kadius, unbeknownst to me, there were some Crazy Things going on with the Great Merchant Houses/the end of the world/all that shit.
Loon did a great job at keeping me included even though I had "missed the boat" on a lot of the epic shit that was going on at the time, but things like helping out with mundane aspects of the game, which were NOT the focus of /anything/ at the time, made playing a merchant dude in the "end times" bearable. He would do things like attack our Kadian wagon with kryl NPCs and whatnot, while not being demanding or ridiculous when it came to the paperwork side of things. Essentially, it seemed to me what an IMM on Armageddon SHOULD do.
Within a month of his leaving the clan and being replaced by Nyr, Kadius was a hollow shell of what it had been, and Nyr moved on to uhh, other stuff, I guess, and Kadius stayed dead as fuck after being completed trampled by Nyr's "leadership."
Must be a good feeling, to take the helm of a successful, thriving clan... Totally run it into the fucking ground, and then waltz away like nothing ever happened.

What people? The desert elves? If so they'll add nothing to the game because they won't be supported in the slightest. If staff have changed however and do intend to support them then bravo, but I ain't holding my breath.

You can buy a video like that on Fiverr for $5.50.
Videos like that are cooler than the otherside of the pillow. I approve.

ATV were virtually wiped out. When I was first joining Tuluk there was an ATV that actually lived with the Akai Sjir, one of two. During the deluge their camp was destroyed or whatever and the tribe was dying out and I knew the last PC ATV. So by story standards this would be like the Red Fangs re-emerging. Still like that it's happening, but the staff did 'wipe them out' prior to this. That was my PC, unless there was more than one ATV that did that. No, they weren't dying out. They number in the thousands. I was approved to live with the Sjir (by a ST) with my PC in order to "improve relations" until the admin staff found out and they freaked out. It didn't last long. Anyway, yeah. I am considering spec app a Red Fang that has lived within the walls of Nak "Since the Red Fangs had loose connections" there. Now that he would of been old enough, Can make a D-elf/C-elf Red Fang and go raid. Who knows, could even be twins someplace...
