So, I'm enjoying the shit out of playing a human on EOE where I couldn't get into playing an elf (same problem I had on Arm, really), and highly encourage anyone and everyone to give it a try. There's even a "clan" similar to the Byn available to join.

I am fully invested in EoE right now. All it takes is a really good character to get you going on any game. I'm currently playing in the grey company so yeah it's super fun. People should fucking get a PC asap.
Pros: One word to describe EoE right now is opportunity. Everything you ever want to do is possible because the staff is open to it.
Cons: Lots of growing pains with learning a completely new mechanics system, but the staff explains all of it on the boards.
Also the game doesn't function realistically right now in my opinion. The economy is nonexistent and you really have to suspend your disbelief until the staff figures out how they are going to explain things.

delerak: Currency is definitely useful, but a lot of stores when I was playing in Tow seemed heavily reliant on PC crafted things for and in shops, and I think that it's largely a lack of that and knowhow to do that yet on the part of the players/area for a lot of why currency has that feel in the human settlement, like shops being so empty of a lot of things, etc. I feel it's actually more realistic than Arm in that sense, myself, but that's just me. And damn near every mud I've ever played has had a contingency of people arguing as much about the economy, so I would like to ask (this is for my own curiosity of what works in your opinion) what game has an economic model that works or is realistic to you, and how it differs?

Well, since it was addressed and confirmed that recruiting friends to play and play together is encouraged, I'm going to go ahead and post this: The EOE equivalent to a hybrid of the Byn and AOD is around, has spaces open, and is looking to gather new recruits for fabulous contracts, exploring, capture of rare beasts AND protecting the only major human settlement. Anyone who feels this might be an enjoyable role for you: We're there and getting active contracts to go do cool shit, but need new recruits to have the manpower to actually do these things! Now's the time to make a PC and get in there if you're curious or considering it.

Is the human culture all KKK'y? Or could an exiled criminal of another race theoretically join them? Could you link the human info stuff please?
Was thinking foreign legion style.

It's not in public documentation via site or helpfile and is on the boards, but you should know this coming in: Adversarial Relationships: Kavka and Nadu Kaden and Sundown Cordial and Conspiratorial Relationships Nadu and Avasar Kavka and Kaden www.eoemud.com/the-city-of-kaiden.html the actual documentation for humans is at the link.

Having some serious doubt about the quality of players here. I've had to send in a couple of my concerns about a certain player just completely disregarding the world.

If it's the same one I'm thinking it is... I'm going to be honest and tell you, I kind of thought it was you (initially, I learned it was not), just because of tales of subduing kanks and throwing them into the rinth, because it's that level of disregard and I couldn't agree more. I hope that the concerns are more understood when they're not coming from the person's natural adversary (a soldier).

I did, I did. I've not had the chance to do anything but witness a few of the antics. If it's a player, I'm fully convinced it's an armageddon import because it seems too counter to the RP style I've seen of people who've been there primarily, and with the frame of reference I had, it seemed the most likely for who might be filling that role, but even before tonight, I knew it wasn't you, and when I was thinking that, it was before the 2 hella twinkish killings, so to be fair, I was not attributing THAT LEVEL of bullshit to you, just some low level irritating of people. I do hope something gets done about them though, because they are just god awful.

It's just funny that people think I am some crazy powergaming, world-ignoring twink. I've played roles at Arm that have garnered me 6 karma and I still have that account. The same at SOI I was gaining RP points fairly consistently before I was banned because of my "attitude" problems. Kind of frustrating that people pass judgment so easily.
We all do it though I sent in an email to Esos about some things that I was totally wrong about so I feel like an asshole about that.

Eh. It's not a personal thing, just deductive logic on my part. Give me someone I can't identify doing something, then a pool of about 10 people to draw from, the one I'm going to guess is doing it, is the one who's been known in the past to have done it, because it seems the most reasonable guess. I do apologize, though. My assumption was wrong.

Past two days, my husband and I weren't logged in as our internet went down briefly. Not sure as I won't be logging in until later tonight.
