Jcarter, I'm sorry man, but this might've been a bad call. There is a possibility that a person is an active member of these forums, participates, posts, gives up stories, information, advice. Then someone raises an issue that touches one of the person's characters 'directly'. There is literally nobody else aside staff, who would be able to give the best account of what happened, how, why, and how did it end. But the person 'can NOT' do it, without outing himself. He 'could' create an alt forum account, but that might cause certain problems. Or he could post anonymous, offer his (probably best) view of the events, without performing anything that would get him banned.

I'd rather just not have anon posting. If they really want to remain anonymous they can simply register for a fake email somewhere and send in the information to jcarter or anybody and they can post it for them. That's a lot easier than even posting here where your IP is obviously logged.

We've no need to go down that slippery slope. You're not going to "out" yourself to staff so long as you are smart and don't have the same gdb handle as you have here. If you want to be super sekrit, hell, just use a VPN.

Ironic, the story is told by the players (or so the GDB zombies brag), but step out of line and the players will be 'corrected' by administration.

I'm not going to enable anonymous posting because it's going to be used and abused by spambots mostly. There's no barrier or problems to making an alt account, and the only way I would ever say anything if someone was using it as a sockpuppet in an argument.

I knew some of the RF players. And as I understand it, they all took steps to make sure the red fangs would survive. There main camp is destroyed, the clan is openly obliterated. But, unless staff retconned this, there should be a small bit of them somewhere.

Even if they managed to leave the camp and go quit out somewhere technically the clan and RFs are dead. So there are some tribeless d-elves that used to be RF? AWESOME. Too bad you can't play tribeless d-elves since like 6 years ago or so? So they force stored these PCs because of it.

No, Suposedly, when the war was kicking off they got together and hid vnpc family or something. I didn't ask details, but the two players I spoke to that were in all of that said that they took steps to assure the RF would still be alive, but well hidden

I hope they make a comeback one day. I never got to play in the tribe.

There are a pocket of Red Fangs, somewhere, likely scattered, in the game world.
I hope they open them up for play again eventually. I think under Daktaran, Lavzr, and Katresta, they showed that you can really pull off a lot of raiding without a lot of pk, which is something that I think makes the Soh an inferior raiding clan. They tend to do much more pk than the RF did, which is great for the clan's coffers, but makes for poor reputation building and interaction in many cases with others, and less RP for anyone from outside the Pah coming in and getting raided.

I'll share an old story I remember from my days as a total noob.
This was back when the Blackwing were an open clan. Known for pretty high standards of roleplay the Blackwing were fucking badasses plain and simple. This was probably my 5th or 6th character on the MUD and I was exploring (as usual it's my nature to explore new things), and anyway I go into the tablelands as some noob and don't know any better
I'll never forget this either. Instead of just outright killing me I get contacted by the hunched, black-eyed elf? I can't remember his sdesc but it was something like that and he just ways me this message:
"You have until dawn to get out of the Pah. After that I'm going to put an arrow through your throat."
You sense a foreign presence withdraw from your mind.
I never saw the guy anywhere so he was using his hide/sneak. And for some reason that message to me just struck a cord with my character. It really set off some bells and whistles. I was a MASSIVE Pker coming from a MASSIVE Pker background. I lived for the thrill of hunting down players and slaughtering them and feeding on the ashes and tears of their sadness. But this for some reason scared the fuck out of my character (not me). It just resounded for some reason. I was so used to people acting tough and such that words like this were never used. I'll never forget it to this day and guess what? I fucking ran my ass off out of the tablelands with that character and never went back.

I fucking ran my ass off out of the tablelands with that character and never went back. Definitely. The one time I raided someone (with a whiran, after something specific that she would've been after no matter who it was), I came in, walled off the only exit, and told the guy aloud, you know 'Just let the gwoshi go, and you leave unharmed. My lover's a gypsy, and they are sacred, so I can't let you take it.' or something to that effect. After he let go of the gwoshi and we started RPing, I even cast 'detect invis' on him so he could see my pc to interact with. He appreciated getting away with his life so much that he contacted her later to thank her for being one of the less deadly things to run across in the wastes. To me (and this is just opinion), raiding that always leads to death is less raiding and more just rampant pk. Which in some cases is acceptable, yes, but much less fun (again, opinion) than a situation that people both leave alive with a badass or harrowing story to tell.

There are a pocket of Red Fangs, somewhere, likely scattered, in the game world. Are you sure about that? I remember when someone asked Nyr about that, he corrected the history entry to say that there isn't a single Red Fang left.
