Pretty much. If my pc's schtick was sparring humans inside a city, they would be in the bin, or the military, or the First.

Salarr tends not to limit people to the city walls for a year. It's in great majority up to player leadership, I suppose. I 'think' Kadius doesnt forbid it either. Kurac does though, of course.

Joining Salarr was what got me to not quit the game three characters in. Best time I've ever had in an RPI, and I'm pretty sure that was when salarr had, like, nobody playing at the time.

I don't think the Fist would have any people left at all if they were to let people out right after recruitment, lol.

Hit journeyman slashing (started at novice) and master parry in under 22 hours in-game and under a IG month. Funniest thing I've read in this thread even though it's out of context: "You have to go on RPTs to skill up. That's why off peak players are screwed."

So you basically would log in for five minutes and spar, log off an hour, then wash and repeat for an IG month? 'cause that's the only way I can see that being possible.

That sounds exactly like what a sizable portion of the Byn is doing at any given moment.

Not much to say, it was easy as hell and I was bored. Ended up suiciding the character for lols. It's safe to say that the staff never even knew he existed. (I've requested account notes since making him, was a while back.)

When Clans have good leaders, they take you out. If you are in a hunting clan it is imperative to hunt. Most clans its don't go outside without your leader. A few of them have the rule, don't go out alone. It makes sense. They invest equipment and effort into your character and expect an ROI. You get the benifit of gaining the skill ups you need in the safest way possible. Not that there isn't still a chance of death.

Here's a brief look at what hidden skills you can improve: *Language skills ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- sirihish 100 cavilish 10 NorthAccent 100 h SouthAccent 100 h BenduneAccent 100 h
Spice skills Tolerance skills ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- alcohol 14 h tol pain 36 hl
*Weapon per Race skills -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Humanoid Insectine Ophidian Plant Avian Flying | Mammalian | Flightless | Reptilian | Arachnid | | | | | | | | | | Hit | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | Bludgeon| -1 | 15 | 7 | 9 | -1 | -1 | 12 | -1 | -1 | Pierce | -1 | 36 | 4 | -1 | -1 | -1 | 5 | -1 | -1 | Stab | -1 | 28 | 7 | 15 | -1 | -1 | 48 | -1 | -1 | Chop | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | Slash | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | Whip | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | You also have a hidden willpower skill that's not listed above, but I've had it given to me before. I think you're stuck with what you roll, but Anaiah can confirm if she's willing to. Back to lurking. This thread popped up again, and reading through it got me curious. Let me see if I understand: A character has a base offense skill, plus a weapon per race skill specific to the sort of weapon being used and race of the opponent being fought, plus possibly a weapon proficiency skill based on guild? Each of which contributes to the chance of a successful attack? A character has a base defense skill, and possibly a parry and/or shield use skill, to defend with? None of which are specific to the race or weapon of the attacker? However, if a character has a weapon proficiency skill, it will boost the base defense against attackers using that sort of weapon? Would it be possible for a highly trained mage or merchant to be absolutely kick ass with a sword, given they have a high weapon per race skill, against a specific opponent? (Could they even have a high weapon per race skill or are they capped?) Or is a weapon proficiency skill far more important?
