I'm surprised Luir's Outpost never adopted a company store for the different merchant house employees, with merchant houses opting to pay employees in house scrip instead of coins, because why not keep all the coins for yourself?

The 'logical' reason probably has to due with how nenyuk probably stores it's major obsidian stores in Luir's or off site, meaning if the Templarate got uppity and blatantly seized a bank they'd lose complete access to thousands upon thousands of bits and getting it would be more trouble than its worth
The actual staff reason is probably they've never considered it.

So many years ago this happened
And now I'm reading a new post from the Indy staff team that the Red Fangs are open. Is anyone else confused?

I visited this on an incognito tab with a fresh session. I saw that stupid retort coming a mile away.
But maybe my fiance is looking up some crazy shit on our IP address. She is German after all.

Yeah I refreshed a few times and started seeing umlauts, it's her, my bad. Guess I just visit websites with age restricted ads... Besides this site. So I was surprised.
This extremely respectable institution and forum. So esteemed.

Would Arm work better if it was reimagined as a Hack & Slash without permadeath?
I honestly feel RPI gets in the way of the gameplay. Too much room for interpretation. I've seen so much crap come from people (staff and players) who chastise others for not roleplaying right.
Instead of roleplaying, balance out the overpowered classes by other means. Like making any Sorcerer who enters a city fair game for annihilation by players and such.
Have a re-roll function like InfernoMOO does so people don't have to super commit to a character concept.
Food for thought. I might write down how I'd think. this would work later.

If you play Arm in 2023, you should be forcibly restrained in an insane asylum or the geriatric ward. I would propose that it'd be a respective 30/70 split.

Honestly I think it's less insanity, more masochism. I guess it's better than having people put out their cigarettes on you. There's definitely a lot of masochism involved. Miradus, if you SO BADLY want a harsh survival experience... just go play Apocalypse solo. You know, the game that you staffed during the last two iterations. That completely failed and died both times... Because you have no clue what players actually want or what makes a good game. gdb.armageddon.org/index.php/topic,59912.msg1098216.html#new This gdb thread is pretty funny. You have players passive aggressively alluding to how the game is deader than ever. And you have an ex-Apoc staffer and failed game admin, with the unpopular and nonsensical opinion trying to dictate what type of game Arm is. Lemme help you figure that one out... Armageddon is a dying game because the producers have yet to take decisive action or even attempt to revive/save it. If you aren't going to completely rework the cities and clans, which is what you need to do to save Arm, at least implement changes to make it feel less barren for the couple dozens players that still care to mudfuck and idle at the bar. Leaving the gates open might help with that.
