Yet another staff abuse thread

I'm sorry that happened to you.

I put in a complaint about Katima not even a few weeks before I made my post calling out staff.

At the time, I was playing a Northern Templar as was Mansa. My character had a strong relationship with another PC whom she was making to go through a small process before opening her warehouse. This was a learning experience for me in the role, and also I was trying to set out some small mild challenges to develop the story before handing over warehouse keys. I was also requesting info from staff as to what was required.

The PC put in a request and asked for help from staff as they were trying to figure out what to do. Katima told this person to just use Mansa's Templar instead of mine. She never told the player that their choice would decide what templar received the warehouse income and effectively OOCly sabotaged them and set Mansa's templar up to benefit.

I didn't know much about Katima at the time nor did I realize that she (like most/all of the staff) was able to be logged in as staff and their character simultaneously. Nor did I realize she was being fast tracked to create her own merchant house because she was staff. Her group IG constantly evaded my Templar and helped Shalooonsh's noble PC set up a plot wherein he won a rare book that was all more of a staff plot. I know this now, I didn't know this then.

As for my reason for the complaint --- I was so confused by her actions (I was still realizing just how corrupt all of the staff were). I wanted to assume good intent, so I just closed out the complaint. I now realize that it was just more of gaming the system against me. I think I'm a pretty good strategist but I couldn't out-strategize the way staff were involved, monitoring and playing simultaneously and playing all-powerful sponsored roles. If they wanted players to have fun and explore that seemed secondary to their nobles and PCs just winning consecutively over others without the advantages they had.

She seems to have evaded much of the negative attention that developed around that time, but it's so completely crystal clear at this point that all staff around that time cheated past and present tense. It's common knowledge that staff don't abide by their own rules. They play the OOC game harder than anyone. I knew who Shabago was playing multiple times. Drinn/Ourla, Malifaxis/Shalooonsh, Aromit/Can't remember his GBD name but remember his real name - were all meeting up with players, sharing IC info, and then trying to harass anyone for the same damn thing. To this day they still have a thread pinned about how OOC talk ruined a plot - while telling players that staff never took on sponsored roles. Not only were doing that they were staying logged on as staff while playing their sponsored roles and using that info to evade death or even small failures.

The game is fixed. It's going to stay fixed. But the worst part of it is the people who were harassed, ostracized, mocked, and generally bullied by staff. There was never any game integrity. And it's just frankly sad to treat people this way. With current developments, it's very clear that staff don't even like their player base and have been on the verge of making Armageddon an invite-only cliche. That's not even a video game.

I say more power to them. The only reason they want players at this point is so that they have someone to boss around and play in their sandbox where they win effectively turning players into the unwitting NPCs and them as the protagonists.
