I'm mostly sorry there isn't an alternative for the people who feel like Armageddon is their only creative outlet, There is a great alternative that is very similar to Arm in code-base, is an RPI with 30-40+ players on peak, has actually amazing admins that aren't creeps, will respect your time, won't gaslight you, and will actually let you change the world around you.
It's called Harshlands. I recommend everyone give it a thorough try.
As for Arm, I think Looonsh stepping down is a great thing, but knowing Arm staff and how I have absolutely 0 trust in them to do anything right or openly, I feel like there's going to be some shit pulled here. The fact they're instantly banning anyone on the Discord who says anything that even suggests that they're thankful that the sexually offending staff member is gone.. is quite telling.
Harshlands absolutely does not fulfill me in any way, shape, or form. I'm sure the Harn game/tabletop/whatever it is, is cool, but 'generic medieval setting' really hasn't been my bag. I've tried multiple times in the past year, and I just do not care for their code base or professions or the odd chivalry. Maybe someone else might, though.  Anyway, we'll see how long gone Looonsh manages to be from the game, and what capacity Shabago is actually going to stick around as. I don't see much changing, though. |

Hestia having a normal one and blaming recent staff changes on the fact that people who get sexually harassed complain too much and don't press enough charges, apparently.  Ok booomer. What a great victim blaming hot take from Lizzie. Almost as good as when she insisted on referring to transpeople as "its." Keep screaming into the sky from the retirement home on behalf of abusers from Florida friend. Nevermind all of the other evidence I provided about all of the game related rules that were broken too. We'll just ignore that part. double posting, don't care, because I'm amused that Hestia thinks people just have lawyers on fucking speed dial, let alone can afford one off the cuff. She's so out of touch, it's ridiculous. |

Harshlands is good, has a weird system though.
While I can look at it and think: A lot of these systems make sense
The weird token system/productivity points, a lot of shit just doesn't compute with my brain

Pretty good stuff: Delirium posted some scathing stuff about Shalooonsh in the mandatory "jerk off the leaving staffers" thread, then it got moved to its own thread by Halaster:  It features a pretty fucking stupid response by Halaster, who is one of the game's two producers at the moment. Without a player advocate, you get staff and players talking to one another directly. Not ideal, because staff are all homeschooled and never learned how to socialize, apparently.
With a player advocate, players and staff are basically playing telephone through the advocate. The advocate takes the player's message, forwards it to staff, the staff proceed to do nothing, the advocate apologetically tells the player that they ignored him. Wow. Amazing.
The actual solution is to stop playing the bone sword game. It's not that good anyway.

Basically. The game is legit getting to the point where people are dropping the game instead of dealing with the bullshit. You can only deal with power fantasy tripping gods so much before it starts to effect you, or it effects people you like to play with, or it effects enough people that you can't find people to play with. |

For those of you curious --- this is how the staff notified me I was banned after seventeen years in this community and being the victim of (sexual) harassment and metagaming from their staff. Sorry Bebop, you are banned from using this forum! Banned for leaking RL information about staff along with private screenshots without consent on the derpboards This ban is not set to expire.   Wow. I can't believe I ever advocated for the staff on this game or thought they would do right by me. I'm honestly reeling that staff is desperately trying to frame the staff member that did this as the victim and myself and those that have made the complaints as the problem. |

Staff consistently ignores active requests for help, consistently ignores evidence brought up about abuses, and then when you have a 'big one' (Like the blatancy of Shalooonsh being sexually aggressive in the Way) you basically can guarantee if you push hard enough you might, MIGHT, get a 'It's an isolated incident' response.
Yet you show a consistent history, multiple examples of Shalooonsh being crazy, and you get banned for showing some facebook DMs.
