I will say the times I've been in a clan or area with Shabago and Shaloonsh overseeing them were some of the more active, interesting bits of clan interaction I've had well, ever. Also I was never approached for mudsex, mostly to investigate strange things, and help get people on the same page to get the low-down on crazy coincidences. I found it fun and enjoyable, ymmv, fuck, you might hate it.
EDIT: And before today I didn't even know who Shaloonsh was, in that light, that's typically what he as a player had my characters doing whenever they worked for him. It was always kind of a cool running series of plots to figure out what was REALLY going down, even if I was terribad at it.

I honestly don't understand how screen sharing via something like Skype the ID from the windows app (not the web app) is this confusing to you guys so far or why it has to be explained multiple times by multiple people.

You expect someone who has minimal investment in the game to go through the trouble of sharing screens? Like someone who has played the game for awhile would have the motivation to do so but if it's just some chick saying hey this guy is creepy here's screenshots and someone is like PROVE IT MOAR she's going to predictably be like believe it or not, I'm out.
EDIT - PS the windows app is still malleable via the same method because it's a chromium app.

Hell, one time we had a stand-off in the Byn, we were a bunch of Byn elves standing up with our Sergeant against the other Sergeants in the unit, and their units, it was tense. Lt. Copper was animated to deescalate the situation because we were seriously ready to go down fighting to defend a new runner.

I mean, they've already gone through this much trouble, what's 3-5 more minutes of downloading Skype, adding someone, clicking share my screen and then copying and pasting an ID to validate what they've posted in a way that allows no question for its authenticity? They've already put themselves in that situation.

It cracks me up that Malfaxis asked for RP sex. He’s a bully and so ungodly petty. That aside, he could have asked for naked pictures other staff have done before or preyed on players like the gamebase is their personal Tinder.

Now that I am home and doing this you can spoof thusly.. (this took me 5 min to figure out the order of operations)
Windows App
Developer Mode
Enable cipboard history in windows
Share screen program only
right click user name
copy id
windowskey+v
on way down to message bit click the saved data of the userid you want to spoof
ctrl+v
To the person watching who can't see other windows pop up it'd look pretty much the same. Thus in general it's still fakeable or can be accused of being fakeable and the amount of onus to prove it exactly the way I want isn't abnormal to say fuck you I gave you what I had believe me or not.
EDIT - Same thing can be achieved by just sharing one monitor and having 2 monitors so you could even get away with sharing desktop.

The way these "MeToo" moments usually play out is that there's an accuser who nobody believes, then suddenly a dozen other accusers come out of the woodwork.

I am better than most at computers and programming, but I can't follow all this Discord-hackery explanation. I can only imagine how lost the average end-user would be in that discussion.
And despite zeromus coming forward and establishing technical Discord street-cred, there's STILL not an independent, third-party neutral body that could look over the details and render a verdict that everyone would believe.

Shabago needs to stop protecting him. do you have any firsthand things you'd be willing to share about this? there's been things posted here before but have boiled down to 'my nameless friend said...' Yes. I do. All anyone needs to do is read the general discord chat to see multiple occasions really. Better hurry though, he's probably deleting anything questionable. He (or someone) deleted my entire October 3rd history. |
