I don't think the poster is complaining about their bad experience so much as explaining that they tried a few games and what they liked/disliked about each. He even admits he probably got unlucky.

My point is more Qwerty immediately tries to discount the review as unauthentic. He questions whether it's accurate or written by someone who has played recently. He can't simply go, oh yeah that's a review, okay.

He can't simply go, oh yeah that's a review, okay. Absolutely. The review's unwillingness to take a major stand on the experience and adding a "your mileage may vary" style caveat to the whole thing makes qwerty's behavior more ridiculous.

No no. It's a fine review. Everything there is very likely. Except the 'you notice lewd whatever'. That's within possibility, but considering the theme of last reviews.
As for the tugging thing. I'm actually not entirely sure about it. I just recall reading it somewhere. A lot of code changes go unreported. Did you know you cant keyword a nickname to your character if your previous character had that nickname already? I'm sure someone can test it if they truly want. I'm sure it'll get tested naturally aaaaaany second now.

The tugging thing still echoes if you're asleep and get stolen from. Happened to me like 3 months ago so unless they changed it since then.

Qwerty why couldn't you test it before trying to imply the review was misleading or fake by claiming an aspect of it was no longer in-game?
Even when Delerak is like it happened a few months ago...
Aren't you staff and/or an active player? You can't just test this right now?
Don't you directly message people on this forum asking for 'more details' about their experiences so you can 'look into issues' for them?
>_> can you hold a consistent position for like a hot second?

It's fake. Nobody is going to come out of chargen with novice watch and passively catching hemotes. If that were possible, there's no point of hemote. Watch is one of the least intuitive skills to twink up. You can twink it up watching random people especially when they walk into a tavern and start looking at other people but most just twink it up sparring.

Watch is one of the least intuitive skills to twink up. You can twink it up watching random people especially when they walk into a tavern and start looking at other people but most just twink it up sparring. You used to start with somewhere between 5 and 10 watch. I don't know what people start with now that there's the new guild system. Let's say he started with 5. It's actually really easy to twink up watch. You don't watch people and hang around people that hemote. Every hemote you miss, your watch goes up by 1 and triggers the skillgain timer. Miss one hemote an IC day and you'll max out watch in no time. That's a 5% chance to catch an hemote. The first hemote you fail to catch, your watch goes up by 1. Now your chance is 6%. So, within about 16 hemotes, it's likely for a newbie to see one hemote. By extension, seeing three hemotes is not that unlikely. He probably missed 45 other hemotes though. The real reason you don't often see hemotes is because almost no one does them. But if two people are doing hemotes at each other repeatedly you are likely to see it.

You only gain in watch when you make a failure on someone you're actively watching. You can idle in a tavern all day and miss looks, assesses, thefts and stealth skills and hemotes and your watch skill won't budge.

I don't have the code on-hand to reference, but even if that were true, my point still stands. There's just a change in the numbers. A newbie will notice one in twenty hemotes. There's a not-negligible chance to catch a few hemotes if two people are in a long fingerbanging session at the Gaj.

I am blaming kahuna for this one, too. Not sorry.

I don't think the chance of passive watch succeeding is so simple to be a flat percentage check on your skill level. I've had PCs with novice watch for many days played and never noticed something as simple as a look.

It depends on the guild as well, gringoose. Some of the guilds start with slightly higher watch.
Noticing 3 hemotes in a row is .. not easy though.
I'm going to confirm the tugging thing in a few days when I can login properly.
