Not only boring, but stupid, too. At what point did I say there was no difference? The context of my remark is clear: if you can consume one form of media, your skin is thick enough to consume the other. I guess you really don't see a difference between being crude by insulting someone irl and enjoying a crude theme in a game/tv show.

I do think you should try it. How should any of us know what sort of Subway sandwich you want? Try it and at worst you can then join us in the complaining.

Yeah, the difference between calling someone acting like a sycophant, a sycophant, and liking roleplaying around people who RP sex acts with 13 year old "adults" is pretty clear. Which is why I didn't say that there was no difference.

Good bit: PC application accepted in under 24 hours.
Good bit: I think I got good stats. No need to suicide.
Bad bit: Still cannot figure out how to turn on the dang colours, even with the help color file.
Bad bit: Its not the exact same as the muds Im most used to (syntax commands etc). Waaah.
Real life bit: Haven't actually played yet. Logged into the Gaj in some mattress room. Another pc logged in and fuct off. No probs. Still got a lot to figure out.

... This isnt your FIRST character, right? It's a fucking complicated mud with a very obsolete command syntax.
I hope you'll keep at it. Ask any questions on syntax here maybe?

Yeah I think there should be a default 'diku' color mode. Or a few, it's not that hard to put in.

Did you exit game to the main menu and enable VT100/ANSI color option?
I think that must be done to get them all working.

There are default colors, but you need to turn them on:
Change color default
Also, color needs to be enabled in the main menu.

So, its been like two monthish...got reminded that I tried out Arm by a Qwerty post.
Put a few hours on the pc, tried to figure out how to get around.
Did seem like a solid system, and once I found out how to turn on the colours, things were a bit more enjoyable.
The change in syntax from SoI/HL was a pretty steep for curve for me too.
Kept seeing some chick in a falcon mask zooming around selling stuff. Didn't seem too interested in RP.
Saw some other cloaked dude a few times. At least stuck around long enough the one time for me to pop off an emote, but then promptly buggered off.
Maybe it was the fact I was clearly a newb (I didn't really buy any gear or whatever, just went with the chargen stuff), or maybe my sdesc was too basic "the plain, sandy-haired man", but I wasn't able to RP with anyone out the gate, so lost interest and went back to Harshlands.
Overall, my initial impression was that this would be a good game to play if you were into solo text based, like Beyond Zork back in the day. Or maybe like Dark Souls 2, where you play a solo campaign with the "chance" of having interactions with another player.
Ultimately though, my enjoyment comes from creating story/conflict with other players...and I don't think I have the time or energy to make that happen (not a slight on Arm, moreso my own dedication at this point in time).

Meh. Old people. 12 year olds manage to get over the learning curve and you couldnt get through a few hours. Tsch.
I can actually relate. I had the same struggle with inquisition and sindome. Took me a few tries to get over the first hump. To each his own, I guess.

How does being ignored by other players who pretend you don't exist have anything to do with a learning curve?
